I finally gave in and decide to do pour agar and use slants for long term storage. Does anyone know where I can find good deals on a 500-1000 ml media bottles and test tube slants? (less than 50 pack)

Amazon and Amazon
Cadamada brand media bottles and 50ml centrifuge tubes
You should be about to get both for less than $50 usd.

I'd just get the 50 tubes but I'm sure you can find less if you look around. They are pretty much disposable because of how cheap they are but I have reused mine plenty of times.

Gizmo, do those Cadamada hold up well? I use the Corning PYREX bottles just cause that's what we've always used at work in the lab. But I keep seeing the Cadamada bottles around here and it's a great deal

I've had the same ones in 500ml version that lasted me a good long time now.
Also had some of the 250ml versions they were shit. All cracked on me.

Pyrex is definitely better. I have some of the 250ml Pyrex ones the glass is nicer and caps are way better than the knock off gl45 and you can write on them with pencil.

All in all though those cadamada ones are pretty good for the money I feel comfortable recommendimg them to others. Just not in the 250ml version.

I just got and used the 3pk media bottles for 15$. They are all just fine. Just like all my other off brand ones.
They worked for me. There was bad reviews, I left a good one.

Off brands are fine for this, i usually use karter

Just be sure to get bottles 2x the volume you plan to use, so they can be easily poured. I usually pour 1l agar at a time, so i use 2 1l bottles , half full each

Just scooped an All American 25x for 75 bucks.  It looks a little rough but hopefully she will hold pressure.  They had it listed for 100 but I talked them down due to some dings around the wingnut.  Looks like it was stuck and someone beat it.

I'll post some pictures later, maybe some of you can point me in the right direction for testing this thing out.

You can buy replacement parts for everything on it, even the pins + bolts that hold the wingnuts on.

$75? Thats a total steal as long as the aluminum shell isnt deformed or cracked. Like was said, you could replace most any part on it that might need it and still come out ahead since they cost $600+ new.

Here are some pics of the 25x I grabbed yesterday, she is a little rough but going to clean her up and assess the situation.  Also managed to score a brand new 921 and 5 cases of jars this morning for $150.

Good haul. I recently got a full 12 bottle case of iso. I barely use it these days, and a little goes a long way.

I got lucky with them.  Both of them were supposed to be picked up by someone else but the sellers were sick of waiting around.  I was just going to order another presto but everywhere is sold out.  Check out letgo and offerup as well.

That is the only brand of iso I've seen in like 5-6 weeks.  Need to get my flowhood built so I'm not bathing in the stuff.
