    #26758065 - 06/19/20 05:38 PM (3 years, 7 months ago)

they're great short term band-aids, almost miraculous really, but long term...not so much. In fact if one has to rely on benzos just to socialize through life, then...that ain't good.

I smoke a lot of weed. Dealing with it kind of reminds me of shooting something, bow or a gun or whatever.. The harder you grip the more you'll shake, not enough control and you're liable to have something fly off however. You have to find that middle ground where you're in control but relaxed. You can feel anxiety and be in control, it's just an experience and it passes. The problem is feeling like there's a lack of control, you know? "I do not like this but I must experience it. I may feel it but I don't have to BE it. What do I have to do, or not do, to move past this?" Sometimes it's as easy as breathing, getting some air, sometimes I curl my toes because it's easier/less noticeable than grinding my teeth or playing with my hands. Other times it might just be as easy as finding the best distraction and trying to leave that experience behind me. Anxiety sucks. Panic attacks suck. But the most important part in dealing with them comes from motivation and perception, do I care about moving past this and do I believe I'm doing anything right? Not taking the time to recognize our successes only makes these things worse. So I suppose I would say, make an effort and remind yourself you're doing a good job.

Trumps admin told the FDA to scare the living shit out of doctors by threatening to pull their medical license for giving anxiety meds to anyone that's young or didn't have a serious traumatic event and even then myself and even war vets with worse ptsd are being cut. That's why you or anyone that needs anxiety meds can't get them

Breathing and positive affirmations!

If you have any triggers that cause them, address those things and don't avoid them. when you address them and you remind yourself you are safe through it, it gets easier and easier. avoiding those things will make it even harder for you to heal.

hope you're able to get through this <3

Having klonopin.
1. It taught me what it was to have 0 anxiety without being fucked up. And therefore the mindset I should be striving for.

2. Having a killswitch was invaluable. Knowing I had a safety net that if I absolutely could not fight it anymore I could forcibly stop it helped me bring myself back from the edge.

Ymmv

Be aware that rescue meds should be a complete last resort. Even in the moment. If you have a life that will allow you to go at your own pace and learn on your own, get away from the panic environment on your own, you probably will be better off with it.

You need to do alot of work on yourself and figure out what your triggers off. Medication is a tool to help you think well enough to out think your problems. It cannot do that for you.

I had panic attacks from the time I was 9 until my mid/late 20s. Often daily. I was born into anxiety.

You do have the power to take control. You just have to figure out how to control your neurology.

I wish you the best luck. If you do use meds please work with a professional and if you use benzos try to get the script limited. I had like 30 for 6 months. Fear of not having it for the worst motivated me to fight and use that as a backup.

If you have a smartphone, theres some really good mediation apps out there.

The best way to stop having panic attacks is to have better control of your mind and mindful mediation is one method to do that. Also try microdosing shrooms, should help you out.

Biofeedback training has also been showed to be effective as well.

That's the difference between zZZz and you. zZZz has God on his side because he is a Believer, and that FAITH is stronger than fear.

Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for Thou art with me.

When zZZz puts God first, his FAITH first, fear disappates.

Weed. Coffee, Tobacco. Three sources of anxiety if used daily, Weed initially calms people down but many tend to anxiety after years of use.

Caffeine is a stimulant and nicotine, a stressor in itself.

People often forget caffeine - its a major culprit, many people on anti anxiety drugs are this because they drink coffee. They just don't make the link between anxiety disorders and taking a stimulant.

This might sound cliche, but:

- Meditation
- Exercise
- Super healthy diet
- Breathing techniques (there are many, experiment until something clicks)
- Therapy
- Lay off substances that psychologically destabilize you
- Occasional benzo for emergencies

The key is being consistent with these things though. Benefits won't crop up over night but if you can commit things will improve down the line. I wish you well OP

I told my doctor it didn’t feel like a serotonin issue I’m still a happy person I just get panic/anxiety attacks sometimes so an SSRI doesn’t make sense cuz it’s not depression it’s anxiety. He instantly gave me a Xanax script.

Maybe it’s easier in Canada tho.

Plant medicines can help a lot

I use supplements like skullcap, l-theanine, kava kava, etc

My doctor wont give me benzos so I have to try and find other forms

Panic attacks fucking suck they've been wreaking havoc on my life for years

I found out my panic attacks were happening FROM phenibut. Idk how many ppl know what that is, but it helps ppl with anxiety but if you abuse it, it can backfire. I was having full blown panic attacks from it. That was dumb of me.

So back around 2015, I had my first full-blown panic attack which came out of nowhere. I was convinced I was going to die and thought maybe it was my blood pressure. I calmed down that night and the next day it came back and I ended up going to the hospital. They told me I was probably just exhausted (not sure why they didn't recognize it as a panic attack). In any case, they became a near constant occurrence. If I wasn't in a full-blown panic attack, I was on the verge of one for months after the first one. I even had to take two weeks from work because I just wasn't functional.

I've had one in the past year. It definitely got a lot better. I think it begins to go away naturally as you consistently deal with them and your subconscious begins to recognize that there isn't any real damage coming from them. It's like exposure therapy. The absolute most effective thing for me, though was mindfulness. Once a full-blown panic attack comes on, there really isn't anything you can do to stop it. The key is identifying the sensations in your body before a panic attack. I'd notice my breathing becoming shallower and more rapid, my posture would become more tense and I'd start to feel a general stomach discomfort, like nausea. Noticing then and taking relaxing actions at that point is the best defense.

All GABAAagonists can cause rebound anxiety.  Phenibut is notorious for it along with it's withdrawals.  There are lots of ways of dealing with anxiety/panic attacks, some healthy. others not so much.  I just abuse the fuck out of benzos, double edged sword that will eventually cut me(again, already had WD seizures before)

So, idk if my situation applies because my panic attacks were related to ptsd and were kind of rolled into one really intense larger flashback experience where I legitimately thought I was in imminent danger - I actually called 911 at one point, I was so scared, and luckily the cops(who showed up in like 2 seconds flat, go figure) were pretty nice about it when my roommate explained the situation. But..

My experience with panic attacks is that once they start, you kind of have to ride it out, it's sort of like a bad trip in that way. You can make it easier, you can possibly shorten it. If you can recognize that you're on edge and identify what is triggering you(kind of a shame that word is so easier to joke about these days, but I mean it in the legitimate sense) then sometimes you can shut it down before it happens. That takes a lot of self reflection and therapy. It took a lot of sleepless nights before I was able to meet the situation in a calm, rational manner and knew exactly what was going on in my brain, and that even though every fiber in my being felt the opposite - I was okay.

I rode out a lot of them with the help of my roommate and a friend crashing on my couch on the regular - I found out that if I had a person there, anyone, that I would be able to deal with it - wouldn't be able to sleep..would have the phone in my hand ready to dial 911, but I would usually just kind of be able to hang on and watch tv. These nights got less frequent over many months, and eventually years, I went into therapy on and off, and when I started addressing the trauma and how it was effecting me in a healthier way they went away for good.

I wish, at the time, that I would've just gone and gotten some fucking xanax . So many sleepless nights..I kept so many people other than myself awake too, and to be honest, it was absolutely miserable just kind of fighting it all the time - but it's been years and I haven't had a single one, have never needed benzos, am not on any meds, etc.(other than weed which I take medically for ptsd and anxiety). Idk if that would've been the same if I would've gone on benzos, I feel like it probably wouldn't have been as severe but it would've dragged out the whole ordeal even longer.

PTSD is related to panic attacks, just like x10.  From my understanding in people with PTSD the flight.fight feedback loop in the brain is broken, and once it is started just continually self-reinforces, making it worse that just a panic attack.

I literally had no idea what was happening in my body at first - screwed up flight or fight reaction is exactly how I'd describe it. Auditory hallucinations, these weird hot and cold flashes, dizziness, uncontrollable shaking to the point where I couldn't even hold things sometimes - by the same time next year? poof, all of that pretty much disappeared completely over time and turned into mild depression and anxiety at it's worst. weird, but definitely not complaining.

Benadryl, man. It might seem crazy but it’ll definitely level you out. I do it quite often because I have really bad anxiety and don’t want to have to buy and take Xanax all the time. Also, breathing/meditation help me a lot. I’ll be honest with you man I have terrible anxiety and these techniques work very well short-term but you also want to work on getting rid of the anxiety completely. Come up with a routine and write it down, follow it as closely as possible, eat well, exercise and in general just try to improve yourself. You’ll come a long way in a pretty short amount of time if you just focus on what’s causing the anxiety and fix it.

Well I guess it depends from person to person. You maybe taken too much. It does that to me sometimes as well but only if I take extra. Still worth a shot for anyone that hasn’t tried it before.

Ive been having mini panic attacks being in public with people coughing and sneezing. I keep thinking "Fuck, im gonna get the Coronavirus. This is it. Fuck." Then i just sit in my car, breath and self talk myself down to a more stable mindset. It takes time and practice but it does work. You just gotta believe in the power of your own mind.

I see the mind as an extension of the Spirit and the Spirit is an extension of God/The Creator/Creation. Its sorta like an organic computer if you will and if people learn to control their thoughts, feelings and even physical reactions, many great things can happen

samesies, I feel like our consciousness uses our brains as an interface of sorts in order to navigate the physical world, and that we're all just meat  machines :vaped:.

Not sure about the Meat Machines (dont eat me pleeez!) but definitely agree on the brain-mind interface of reality. And dreams are an interface into our mind and the spirit world as well.

Meow it away, meow as loudly as possible and hold it on the last W till you run out of breath.  And then repeat repeat repeat.  Like your life and all the world depends upon it reaching unfathomably epic proportions.

Meow so that God can hear you.

This is the way to make panic brains recalibrate itself overriding the panic attack nervous systems feedback mechanism - fear turns into hilarity  & hilarity into calm.

Let out a primal meow like your the king of the cats, one that will shake both the heavens & the earth.

Not even kidding.  Do it right meowwwww!

Usually I just breathe. I acknowledge the panic or anxiety, figure out where it is coming from and confront it in a loving and positively affirming way. I try to be still, lay down or sit and just wait until it passes. Most of my anxiety comes from not finishing EVERYTHING that I need to do and it piles up. So I start small and work on the things and tell myself I can't be a super person all the time and what I finished doing is just fine for the moment. Know what your triggers are and consistently give yourself love in response. Anxiety is a normal response to feeling something is off in you or around you, so I no longer consider it a negative emotion. It's more of a warning to something much deeper, ie triggering situations or stress (either self made or external). Stay away from negative self-talk and don't try to panic even more. You will not die from a panic attack. You will move past it and it will be ok.

I have PTSD and when it comes up in more extreme ways, I used to freak out, then I started to vigorously clean or go for a walk. The energy has to move through you, either work it off or let it flow through you. Over time it will lessen when you can control your reactions to it. Flight or fight is a basic survival tendency we all have and it's a build up of adrenaline. Being too much in this mode will give you adrenal fatigue and make you sad. Now it's mostly annoying and I try to tell it to fuck off. With love. Because dang anxiety, I already know why it's happening. I'm right here.

Keep a good sleep schedule. Eat good foods. Limit yourself to toxic situations or persons. Exercise. Meditate. Confront your inner demons and learn to accept it with love, acceptance and forgiveness. Self love bishes! :heartpump:

There's also an abundance of guided meditations on Youtube.

DM me(over here or on discord, if you're on there) if you ever want to talk about it. I know how it is. It's not something I bring up to people really at all irl at this point - and part of the reason why is because it took me a long time to wrap my head around it. While there was one significant event that very clearly caused the onset of all that bullshit, I think there were multiple lesser traumatic events that also shaped it and the way I experienced it, it's very confusing at the time. The whole world just seems to go insane around you, and you're not safe anywhere, even if you intellectually understand there's no danger. It was such a dark and depressing world to live in.

One thing I wish I would've done was talk to someone on a more consistent basis. I was diagnosed with ptsd formally around that time...and then..I just kind of stopped going to therapy lol. I wish I wouldn't have, but at the time if felt like I was picking at emotional scabs, it was super exhausting and I hated it and avoided it. Unfortunately, ime, it can be hard to find a good doctor that fits you well when it comes to behavioral therapy.

- Z -

I transcended just by simply reading that epic meow - by virtue of how powerful it was. I bet it was even more cathartic for you.
Breaking through, the habit of reification of panic is broken, we let them be just as they are, and projecting nothing but the great Meow, we abide in the nature of the ground of being, where, timelessly, the nature of mind is saturated by Meowiness.
Primordial spaciousness is our universal home, so pure Meowy presence purifying pollution of panic attacks via primal awareness is here and Meow.  With no where to go - the panic subsides like the way a dream ends - subsiding & dissolving into the zero-dimensionality.
  The cosmic Meow.

This power of Meow.

Took the responsility of my own well being to my self. Stopped eating benzos and started clean diet, excersice. Meditation helps you to learn not to attach to every though that pops up. Nature does good to me. So does yoga.

Stopped substance abusing all so!

Anxiety sufferer here as well. I’ve tried therapy, anti anxiety meds, exercise. The only thing that works is cognitive behavioral therapy or basically just facing fears. If you run from them, the fear grows.

Also, lifestyle changes where possible.

I’m currently in a bout of anxiety now where I literally wake up nightly an hour after falling asleep and I’m so panicked and feel like I’m going to loose my mind. It’s a terribly scary thing. I have been considering taking some stuff from <link removed>

Let them come, and you will realize they already have passed.

Resisting is the worst thing you can do.

I was having these panic attacks from phenibut and didn’t even know it. Been clean from it for about 45-50 days now. I occasionally have them creep up but I just try to distract myself and they go away. I appreciate you guys. I started working out/playing basketball again and trying to eat healthy as well.

To those who say benzos, shame on you.

Use guided meditation podcasts on Youtube or Spotify or whatever.

Exercice a little bit more everyday. You can start small like 25 jumping jacks and add 15-25 per day and progressively add more.

Write down your stream of thought when anxious. Your mind can't go faster than you can write it down if you do so, IME.

Sure, benzos give you a sense of relief, but you'll never have control over your anxiety and panic attacks if you go down that road.

I have been on benzos for 6 years and the rebound anxiety was such that I had as much anxiety attacks in between benzo doses than I do now without benzos.

All the answers/solution you don't want to do because they are harder and don't give relief as soon as you start are actually the real solution/answers you're looking for.

What are your symptoms of anxiety? Mine was from phenibut which I’ve since quit, and doing so much better. I still have a fear of having panic attacks sometimes, albeit minimal but that fear has caused me to have symptoms of attacks creeping up. It’s weird.

I used to have severe panic attacks from when I was a kid, on and off since. The way I've dealt with it as an adult was through my own version of exposure therapy. Thats only if I knew exactly what the trigger was, like my head on collision. I couldn't drive for almost a year without shaking terribly and hyperventilating. So I did easy drives around the neighborhood and to close places, as if I was learning to drive all over again. Id give myself ample time to mentally prepare before even getting in the car. The most recent episodes of extreme anxiety would be cause of the pandemic and just leaving the house. I was high risk at the time, live in an area where people weren't taking it seriously. I had trouble just getting past my front door. It was a pretty bad case of agoraphobia. The only solution was to just push myself and get things done because if I didn't the people I care for suffer. Its that thought that helped me keep focus without falling apart. Sometimes it takes extreme modes of thinking like that to get through the day unfortunately.

I also used psychs to confront my traumas head on, which helped tremendously. I have to admit its quite complicated to do and you have to be brutally honest with yourself. Peeling away the layers of who you are and a lifetime of experiences. That in itself can be quite traumatic but worth it imo. It can a be a needle in the haystack kind of thing though, especially if you don't know whats causing said panic attacks. Mine used to be so extreme that I literally felt like someone was choking me and I couldn't breathe.

After my many trips I haven't had a severe panic attack like that since. My lastest episode was last year but it was pretty mild by comparison from the ones I used to have. I know it why it happened, the trigger and everything. It was a moment of extreme stress and was dealing with a number of health issues at the time so it just all compounded together. Perfect storm of events for it to trigger.

Anyways I never took prescription meds for my anxiety or panic attacks because I always had alternative ways to deal with it. I admittedly was drinking heavily before psychs came into the picture but once they did I was able to let go of my unhealthy habits of coping. Its why I'll be a lifelong psychonaut. Its only in the psychedelic experience where I can do the most mental work and come out of it a better person each time. And my most productive trips always came from solo tripping personally. Not to say you can't get the same with groups or a partner but it takes a special kind of chemistry for that to work ideally, the right synergy and mindsets. When you solo trip for this purpose, you remove any outsiders who might influence the trip itself and or become a blocker from you being able to dig deeper into yourself. Coincidentally with the right person, a trip sitter/trip partner may help guide you even better than you could yourself. It really depends on you and what your needs are.

I think it all comes down to having as many tools as possible to alleviate it. For some people prescribed medicines work, therapy, having someone to talk to, etc. I believe creating a strong support system is what will ultimately help anyone suffering from these horrible conditions. Positive feedback loops, reinforcement. I learned how to meditate from a young age. I know how to tune things out and compartmentalize really well. After many years of cannabis use, I know exactly how to get a positive effect without it being detrimental. These crucial skills have allowed me to function and stay reasonably grounded, despite going through some seriously traumatic events.

A part of me always wanted to become a psychiatrist and dose people, help create a framework for psychedelic therapy but I live in America and school is expensive  Its nice to see some headway being made on that front. So much positive news has come out in recent time. Hopefully by the next decade it'll be a part of treatment options everywhere :awesome:

To everyone, practice self care, try to put yourself first! Treat yourself, give yourself a break if you're able to. Stay healthy fellow shroomerites

Some good advice in here, Daijo I know for many people benzos become a monster in the closet but for lots of others they can be truly beneficial, don't villainize em cause both of us can't control ourselves around them.

Another good practice, I didn't read all replies apologies if this was already mentioned, is setting an extremely strict sleep schedule.  I work second shift.  I set a schedule of going to bed at 1:30am (in bed by then prep begins at 1) and wake up no matter how tired i'm feeling at 9:30 to 10 AM, no alarm clock just when I come to consciousness I get out of bed, drink a big glass of water, put the coffee on and hit the shower.  It has really helped both my anxiety and depression at the same time.  As always results will vary. Best of luck to you, panic attacks are no joke and can be totally debilitating.

Yep, I get confused as hell. My mind goes in every direction, inventing scenarios faster than I can imagine how to deal with them, I get sweaty hands and feet, then the face then the whole body. I keep stopping my breath without noticing. My eyelids, face muscles, members and fingers are trembling. I want to puke + diarrhea.

It's worse when it's what I describe as physical anxiety (drug related, rebound anxiety, lack of sleep-related anxiety). When you get over the physical stuff, which straight up sucks and takes time (I had help of my doctor with a cpam taper to get off kratom I was abusing for anxiety, and it still sucked for a good 3-4 weeks), it gets easier and crisis go by much quicker.

I only started to see real progress when I got desperate and started doing all of what I thought to be hippy bullshit.

Check out Calming Anxiety and Tracks to Relax on Spotify, Patreon, iTunes Podcasts and such.

@ice9 Ice9 is right saying benzos can be beneficial to some. As far as I know, benzos have been withdrawn in most countries as many studies have shown a rate of addiction of 30% after 1 month of 0.5mg cpam/day and no long term decrease in anxiety after the treatment is stopped. If I remember correctly, the UK has 4 active legal Xanax prescriptions.

It is true tho that I am saying not to go down that road because I wish I didn't. I feel like it slowed me down. I didn't feel the need to learn how to deal with anxiety and I would indulge in anxiogenic drugs just because I had benzos to curb the edge.

This.

When I had anxiety I lived so attached to every thought.  I still have this problem but it is much easier to recognize when I'm dealing with it. Usually I get it in the mornings, when I wake up and I am really tired and I keep thinking about all the things I can't do and why I can't do them and why nothing will work out, and before I would listen to that shit and go back to bed.  Now I remind myself that those thoughts are temporary observations of the awareness within myself, within THAT MOMENT, and if me - my soul- whatever it is that has the ability to push through and will myself forward, if I do that, and just push myself to take a shower and think about how it COULD work out, within 15-30 min I find myself going through this metamorphosis and I transition from a pessimistic anxious/scared state to a optimistic couragous/fearless state.

I don't even recognize myself in the mirror anymore. I do shit and it's just new. all the time.  Every moment is new.  Thoughts relative to the moment are powerful.  I think most people are stuck associating things in their moment to things in the past or they are anticipating the future based on their past experiences and that is just not necessarily how life is meant to unfold.  Sure we benefit from learning from our experiences and avoiding certain things, but we also benefit just as much from reaching out into the random and discovering new things.  I think those who suffer a lot from anxiety spend too much time mulling over how things have been, and will/be instead of envisioning positive/different/new outcomes.  But its understandable.  This can be hard if surrounded by other people/places/situations that seem to just be repetitive bullshit stuck in a cycle that has become predictable.

But yeah. I think finding the moment and the lead train-car in your train of thoughts is the way to discover limitless potential and complete freedom from anxiety... if anything one might get anxious due to being overwhelmed with possibilities.  And by lead train car in your train of thoughts, I mean... you are always in this moment.  your thoughts are a sequence, a train of ideas/emotions/memories/desires/frustrations etc.  These were always formulated in your past when your awareness was riding the first variable in the sequence, the first train car.  When your essence was one with your awareness.  If you have your essence, your self, your self image, your potential etc. tied up in the middle of the sequence-in anything not occurring right now, you are bringing into existence/formulating/writing your reality blindly.  Whether consciously or subconsciously you are say, focusing on how you can't be around a lot of people or talk to people because you never have been able to etc. - that is all just a script in your head that is going to cause you to continue avoidant behavior.  And then once you are removed from the pressure of deciding to confront the thing you are avoiding or flee from it, you will enforce that script by saying to yourself 'see, I just can't do it'.  "thats just how I am"... And you are right! So long as you tell yourself that, that's just how you are!

But if you tell yourself you have the potential to do what you haven't always been able to do, if you can see yourself in a new light, and ride the first train car with courage, you will pierce through your old limitations and become something new.

I think what makes it so hard for us all is that it is difficult to imagine things we haven't seen/experienced yet, sometimes. If you've never been a social butterfly, it just isn't natural for you to go around imagining yourself as one, seeing yourself conversate like a tv show host or something... life is never really like that... We gain confidence, and insight about our abilities as we observe ourselves tackling new challenges, which we often don't ask for or intentionally move towards.  We just get confronted, we react because our awareness is spiked, its aligned with our essence because we are 100% in the moment and preoccupied with sustaining ourselves and when we overcome the challenge we feel joy and take a breath like "holy shit I did it, I did it and I CAN DO IT AGAIN" And then we are doing it all the time within a week wondering where that barrier is that kept us from ever doing it before, it doesn't exist! It was made of the thoughts in our head- which don't exist- or it was the result of us never having been forced to confront the challenge directly. we might have only thought about confronting the challenge and pre-supposed what that would be like.

K.... I'm done.  Could talk all day about this..

Try the SSRIs, complain about the side effects, ask to be put on a new one, eventually they run out. (research the common bad side-effects of each first so it sounds convincing) side-effect, you may just get put on an SSRI that really helps with minimal to no adverse effects.

Over 50%  of all ptsd patients can only be treated by benzos. It’s extremely important that people realize that some people just can’t be clean in that respect and benzos do save lives

I was diagnosed with generalized and social.  By multiple docs. But if you read my prior post, I was regurgitating the same old scripts in my head over and over again for years... It was all bullshit though, and it took me getting off benzos and other drugs for me to face that harsh reality.  You go into a lot of docs especially psych docs and you tell them all that classic shit they are going to diagnose you with that. Doesn't mean you have to have that diagnosis the rest of your life, and can't phase all that shit out of your head and learn new behaviors.

And even then they can have limited effectiveness, I have a friend with a TBI from IED in Iraq, he's on xanax and pretty big amount, but I give him premade solutions of c-lam cause at high doses it is so much more potent.

Self diagnosis vs being diagnosed is a class issue here in the US and really dependent on what state you live in if state health insurance covers you or not. I got my diagnosis because I was still a minor at the time and had great health insurance.

I would like to emphasize from this post that these conditions can be transient, and a time may come when you no longer need medication etc.

I mean ...sure...

but I really believe in most of the cases out there, people are stuck in ruts.  Mental ruts... shit like anxiety has become an ingrained belief system in a lot of people who are diagnosed with it.  If a lot of these people were given a large sum of money and told they can go do whatever they want in life, along with some supportive friends and a decent confidence boost by whatever means necessary....I think their diagnosis would vanish.  Not to say that money or friends are necessary....just saying those things would make it much easier for a person to escape their immediate circumstances which often reinforce their flawed belief system/self image.

Worst fuckin part is, and I say this because I did this myself-for years, a lot of these people go to a doctor get diagnosed and put on benzos and find a comfort zone in that regimen... and then they defend the diagnosis and treatment with their lives... no one will ever dare tell them their might be another solution or imply that maybe they don't have to live with this forever, because it would require them to leave that comfort zone to find out... it would require HARD work, MONTHs, YEARS of WORK.  and most people are terrified of that, and when in such anxious states, don't have the self confidence to see themselves ever accomplishing such hard work.

But I acknowledge this isn't the case for ALL anxiety sufferers.  There are many that I have met and seen, and it's just like fuck man... I feel so bad for them because you can tell they are just seriously damaged.  I still think they could possibly be helped and be able to live a life without benzos but for some the trauma/the mental ruts go much deeper than for others.

The psychiatric community is moving the direction of CBT due to what you see, too many people miss diagnosed or in a temporary rut put on long term treatments.

As an ex benzo enthusiast I really think they should be an absolute last line of treatment.  I still pop one once in a while if the day is particularly stressful and I’m in a situation where I have to function while having a panick attack AND have access to a benzo, which is truly rarely.  Even then I notice my anxiety is higher than normal for a few days after the initial 12 hours of calm with something like an ok dose of diazepam.  It’s really only useful if your using them pretty sparingly IMO, or you don’t truly know how bad the anxiety you have is because really everything is compounded by a benzo habit/addiction and of course it feels awful to have your GABA system out of whack

PTSD is another issue altogether and I could definitely see more severe cases not responding to anything but pharma-therapy

I still get them.

I use some natural remedies that can help calm you down, but panic attacks are a hell I never wanted to have become part of my life

I’ve been getting them super bad the last few nights. The only thing I know that helps is to basically have my ducks in a row when it comes to life. If I have anything I’m not sure of or I’m worried about it’s just terrible and I basically lay there feeling like my chest is going to explode until I pass out.

Two things that took me too much time to try and use that I was told to do by more than 1 therapist :

1-Identify things that help with anxiety or panic attacks and do them whether or not you still believe they will still help (when going through a crisis).

For example, I always feel calmer if my dishes are washed and my apartment getting cleaner. When I get a panic attack or too much anxiety, I want to stay static, waiting for anxiety to go away. Getting up and doing on of those things, even if sighing doing so, never fails to help.

Showers help enormously.

Meditation also helps getting full relief while meditating, but also provides the skill to ''swipe left' on negative/anxious thoughts and concentrate on positive and encouraging thoughts. Overall, I get anxious very often, but it doesn't last days or weeks. It lasts 15-30 minutes.

2-Consistency is key. All the stuff you would periodically do for panic attacks and anxiety, you should also do them when you aren't panicking or being super anxious. Example : breathing exercises. Meditate a night where you already feel calm. Accumulate small wins and observe incremental changes in how you feel

edit : I want to add that this is from my personal experience and of close friends and I'm in no way out of the woods when it comes to anxiety and panic attacks.

Yeah that’s what I mean. Even just taking a shower or brushing my teeth helps a little bit. Today I changed the oil in my truck and while aggravating ended with me feeling accomplished and just better overall.

Etizolam is readily available online.  I take .5 mg morning and .5 at night for anxiety.  It works for me and I would never think of taking it to get high or use recreationally.  The only time I took 1.5mg I slept 12 hours.

But .5 split twice a day makes me feel normal and calm.

Yeah man honestly like anger kind of gets me through panic attacks.  I go through this cycle of almost feeling like I am being attack by demonic shit or my mind is going to fast.

I try to mitigate this shit with Ashgawanda or Skullcap.  I also use Benadryl quite a bit to knock me out/ keep me from drinking or make me pass out when I am drinking.

Alcohol causes me alot of anxiety but i can definitely say without a doubt my job causes me alot of anxiety as well.  Like Most of the time the job is chill but has alot of stress and managing a shit load of people.  Also not all the time but some times there is a very real chance of dying a horrific death so that is always kind of going on in the back of my mind to.  Its not necessarily a fear its just a constant realization of mortality.

Like i have dealt with anxiety since my late childhood.  I believe having divorced parents kind of lead to it and then during puberty it got worse.  This of course lead to drinking.

I am now like almost addicted to stress in a way.  Its a cycle of extreme confiedence almost feeling like i am on adderall but while sober this plateaus for a while then that leads to a stagnation which leads to a depression which leads to me being pissed off that I am depressed and then it starts to turn back into the adderall high type shit again.

Its weird.  We are all strange

anyway i recently started self medicating after being cut off my kpin script. all was well till the plug up and went to detox which would be fine accept he's still MIA and my backups are drying up and now im just burning money to avoid nightmare mode aka benzo WD's. that and of course my generalized anxiety disorder.

i used to cop liquid etiz back in the day (went nicely with a bit of mxe) but its been ages and im way out of the loop, can anyone point me in the right direction before i go broke fucking around at street level.

thanks fam

The dark net has always been reliable but from what I see benzos are a crapshoot. Would need a test kit for sure. I’ve always been confused about the clearnet RC scene so cant help there.

I’d just google the dark net man. That’s really your best bet and you’ll probably get a talking to for basically sourcing.

Buspar certainly helped me, but anecdotally I've only seen it help around 1/3 of the people I recommend it to.

It didn’t seem to help me. Did it take time to work for you? The way it was described to me was fast acting. I took it for a week or so and felt no different.

I was told it would take a couple weeks at least, but I noticed a significant difference in less than an hour. Basically as soon as it kicked in. Whatever chemical imbalance I had was pretty obviously effected by it, in a good way.
