Cubensis B+ NEED ADVICE
    #26757550 - 06/19/20 01:57 PM (3 years, 7 months ago)

First Grow, I need to know what’s going on with these guys, they don’t look normal, Jagged stems, veil breaking. I need to know if i should harvest the big ones with broken veils or harvest all.

Fruiting container SGFC
Fanning roughly 6 - 8 times per day
Relative humidity 90%
Temperature 75 F

I've seen others post pics of stipes that look jagged and almost as if they're peeling like this, and the replies they get are typically that they are overwatering the fruits.  I'm a beginner and interested to know myself, so I thought I'd jump in here to wait for someone more knowledgable who can say for sure.

That could very well be possible, I’m at a loss of wether i should harvest the larger ones with split veils. Or just let them go a while. Concerned mostly with losing potency.

how are you fanning?

That could be a bacterial issue; the cake itself doesnt look too good and seems to have some bruising.

Fanning with the lid, I’m unsure of how to tell if its bacterial, it doesn’t have any off odors, or slimy feel. Just smells like mushroom. Any idea how I could tell if its bacterial?

Should I just harvest? Rinse cake, dunk and go again?

Hey, there.

I can see a few issues here. Now, i would wait for someone that is more experienced in this. But i'll add my two cents in.

First of all the cake does seem to be bruised. Are you handling it a lot? i see you have it on a table so i assume you've handled it.
The mushrooms seem to be growing mycelium on them. Which is a problem due to Humidity and Fresh Air Exchange. We'd need to see you're chamber. Does it have holes for air exchange?

It doesn't seem to bad here and yes harvest the open veiled ones. I suspect you simply have to clean up the operation which comes with experience. Clean up as in making sure you are following some directions first before you go off and experiment with your own techniques.

Failures happen so don't be discouraged. This is how we learn.

Edit: i don't mean to say you failed. Ive had cakes become nasty ass shits so it happens. Harvest if you'd like but i would just cut them as they mature and as soon as the veil begins to tear away. You'll learn to cut them just before the veil even begins to break.

Thank you for your input, first of all Yes i have handled it here and there, ( first grow ever) I probably  should leave it alone haha. My humidity ranges steadily between 88 and 92% my fruiting chamber is a SGFC with 1/4 inch holes drilled all over, perilite on the bottom cakes sit on metal canning lids. Would you suggest i “regroup” just follow a guideline to the T?
