Screw the cap on and then turn it back half a turn, and put some foil on the top so you can protect the loose lid.

Then why did Roger rabbit tell me to buy these filters? I just cut pre filters and placed inside the caps. Will cover with aluminum foil when they go into pressure cooker. The filters just seem thick which was only reason i was curious. I drilled holes in the caps and cut filter discs to fit inside the lid. Just wasnt sure if air actually goes through the disc.

Use the filters for grain jar lids. There are many ways to skin a cat in this hobby. SFD’s will be good trade material at any rate.

If you want to fashion a filter on the cap its not going to be the end of the world. As a matter of fact it will more than likely work out just fine.

There rules around here. He’s not specifically targeting just you. But bumping over and over is a good way to get booted from the shroomery.

Edit: To answer your question a filter isn’t completely necessary but u can drill a hole in the lid and silicone one on if u want. I don’t use a filter I just cover in foil and barley loosen the the lid then I tighten it down as soon as I open the pressure cooker without any contamination issues.
