Yeah those are pins. Some subs will open early due to overhydrated substrates.
You can let the grow more and not worry about spore loads. It won't effect subsequent flushes.

I will give that a try, thanks. I've read mixed opinions about spore release, some people say no new pins grow on the spot where spores are released and some others say it's no issue so I'm a bit on the safe side because newbie.

Looks good still to dry in my opinion you harvested way to early those would have got much bigger an they don't spore dump till the veil is really cracked like completely opened up. Almost flat an even if it does spore dump as long as it ain't like a bunch nothing to worried about.as for the exposed grains after harvesting they will be ok nothing to worrie happens to me all the time.make sure u dunk 2-4 hours for rehydration for second flush. u don't wanna just mist the sides like some ppl say it will work but will be little yeild compared to dunking sub

An you mentioned your sub is 2in deep how much substrate did u make for your monotub most are 1 brick of coir (650s) 2qts of verm and 4.5 qts of boiling water and 5qts grain spawn. With that recipe you should get 3-4 in of sub in a 66qt tub

It's looking better now and growth seems to have accelerated. There are a shit ton more pins coming and I continue to mist. My problem was that I mistook the little white 'collar' you see around all mushroom caps for the veil which started to break, confusing me into harvesting way too early Especially when I saw other people with what I thought was an issue (small mushrooms). I am now leaving them be and now I see the REAL veil appearing. I feel a bit stupid.
Anyway, I used this video for making substrate. 1 brick (650g) of coir, 5L water, 2L fine vermiculite and 250ml gypsum. I put in around 3-3.5 quarts of spawn.
I used this storage box, 50L contents. https://www.blokker.nl/p/iris-clearbox-50-l/1109764
About the substrate depth, I think made a wrong measurement earlier. I re-measured and it seems to be closer to 3" now. They are doing well.

Better harvests now. Meatier and bigger mushies.

I decided to put some of the white fuzzy growth on the base of the mushroom stem under the microscope.

are these spores?

The veils have barely formed much less broken it looks like in your first pic. You had like 48 hours more growth on those bad boys.

I doubt it's spores at the base the fuzz is called fuzzy feet witch is from lack of fae or a genetic mutation. U didn't really let the veils open enought for a spore dump if u let them go longer they will do an u will know forsure it will leave black marks on the surrounding caps wen the spore dump

Second tub doing better already than the first tub, since I sealed it in with micropore tape for colonization first. More pins, and a more even pinset as well.

Well that escalated quickly. Just before the main harvest (I harvested some the day before, but not much):

Half a drying net full. Not too bad, I think.
