HELP W ID CENTRAL QLD
    #26753351 - 06/18/20 04:23 AM (3 years, 7 months ago)

Hi everyone!
My boyfriend and I found some mushrooms growing in the botanical gardens we visited  in central Queensland today. We’ve only done mushrooms once before and also picked them ourselves in a cow field in south east qld so I’m not extremely familiar with every type that grows in this state. Just wondering if these are safe to eat? Currently drying them out so sorry for the photos, when we picked the skinner ones they were already brown with a brown stem (as pictured). Any advice would be greatly appreciated thanks so much! :mushroom2:

None of these are psychoactive. The smaller ones are likely Panaeolus papilionaceus.
The other, larger ones might be Entoloma, but better pictures and a description is needed.

Your best bet for hallucinogenic species in QLD are Panaeolus cyanescens and Psilocybe cubensis.

These both grow in manure, predominantly from cattle.

Please also read this post on how to make a proper identification request, so as to make it easier to identify your future finds.

Welcome to the Shroomery. :toast:

Thank you so much for the reply! Will source our mushrooms from cattle fields from now on. And thanks so much for the guide link! Will definitely use that from now on :heart:
