Storage of Powdered mushrooms. Jar suggestions?

Had a recent batch come out with some wildly varying potency. Ms life problems. Some fruits are killer some are meh. I want to grind up the 3 OZ and make a homogeneous mix to get even potency doses. Worried about storage as 3 OZ will personally take me quite some time to consume. Anyone have any experience using Infinity Jars for this purpose? Or have another jar recommendation?

You could capsule them all up and keep them in the freezer. Or just vac seal a bunch of smaller bags and keep them in the freezer. Then you only have to pull out an oz or so at a time.

I recommend a qt jar with a desiccant pack, iv stored mush for over a yr in freezer bags and they were fine, so id imagine that an air tight jar would work just perfectly.

I second the quart jar. Maybe a half gallon jar if u have a ton of shroomies.

I've been using quart masons with desiccants to store non powdered currently. I wouldn't want to imagine the time it would take to encapsulate 3 oz. For some reason I keep thinking they will oxidize much quicker if I powder them and keep them in a mason jar. Even with a desiccant. Maybe picking up a vacuum sealer and storing them at 1/2 oz would be ideal.

As long as they are dry and in an air tight container, a qt jar, they won't oxidize. The amount of oxygen in the jar will be negligible.

And if u wanna really get picky, inject some CO2 in the jar to displace the oxygen.
Vacuum sealing bags is a also a great idea as long as u dont open the bag.

I stopped using vac bags, they are expensive and once you open them, they are open. Its way easier to have them in jars, or freezer bags, I will say the only freezer bags I use are ziploc the others suck and leak air bad.

Yeah its a major downside for sure. U can just cut and reseal, but its a pain in the ass.
Freezer bags are legit. I use them all the time for weed and shroom storage.

Well what the hell, not like I'm going to be running short anytime soon. Might as well just give a couple options a test and see what works best for my situation. I'll throw an oz in a freezer bag, a mason jar and the infinity jar and see what holds up best.

I currently do that with an aquatek regulator attached to a paintball canister with a piece of hardline tubing. Its not realistically able to deplete all o2 but a good deal within the jar and c02 is dirt cheap. Have it from when I upgraded my high tech aquarium to a 20# canister.

Sounds high-tech!
I love me some paintball. Great use of CO2 for shroom preservation!
Would be cool to see a side-by-side comparsion of all your storage techniques as well

Once I get all the storage methods I'll take some pictures and some very unscientific speculations on which one works better

I’ve thought about doing this as well, but I find the compressed experience from consuming powder to be less beneficial for my needs. Is there a method for... re-stretching (?) the trip from powder, or are you just cool with it?

Are you referring to reduced length of trip from powdered? This could be due to increased surface area it is more readily metabolized. By being more quickly metabolized it produces a shorter more potent trip in theory. Restretching I think he means to slow down the metabolization for a longer high.

Yeah, you guys deciphered my meaning.
Powder (for me, at least) gives a “compressed” trip; everything is more intense but it all happens within 60-90 minutes. Dried is a roughly 4 hour trip, and the one time I had fresh it was about 5 1/2 hours.
I prefer the longer, milder trip. Gives me time to think, put issues into perspective, work on mental health. It’s a large part of how I manage severe clinical depression for 1-2 months at a time. I would love to powder for the storage benefits, but 90 minute trips wouldn’t be very beneficial to me.

I’m with you man I usually prefer the longer gradual trip than the smack you in the face instant peak short trips.
I also HATE eating mushrooms, but I’ve gotten close to recreating eating whole shrooms with powder capsules.
I eat a decent amount of food first and then immediately take a third of my dose. Then 10-15 minutes later take another third. And then anywhere from 10-30 mins later eat the last third.
As for the op, I would probably break them up but not powder them until you’re going to take them. That way you can still mix them pretty well but it won’t have the high potential for potency loss if something fails.

That’s interesting. I’ve been giving it some thought lately, and was thinking that aside from the particles being much smaller and more quickly processed with powder, the other big difference with fresh is how much water you take in with your dose. Maybe next time I’ll try splitting a dry dose into thirds per your suggestion and drink the amount of water that dose would have had fresh.
Sorry Padrey, I didn’t mean to hijack your post.
