I previously posted this here, but it was suggested that I might get a better response here.
I picked this contam up from a wild print of Panaeolus cinctulus. I've been trying to get a clean isolate from and have been fascinated with it ever since the little blob started growing.
It has progressively turned more pink and is now producing bright red droplets (spores?). It's gross yet beautiful at the same time.

I'm pretty sure its bacilli but I've been unsuccessful in finding anything more specific regarding the species. Would be nice to know I'm not cultivating the plague.
Any ideas?

The red/orange droplets are fungal metabolites, the Panaeolus mycelium is trying to destroy whatever is contaminating it.

Thanks for taking the time to read and respond to my post.
In the interest of furthering my learning, is there any other follow-up work, analysis or observations I can make which would allow me to both confirm your hypothesis and/or provide any further details about the metabolites and the competing organism?

Shortly after your reply, I streaked a plate after using a sterile cotton swab to gently touch and soak up some of the red metabolite.
Two weeks later, there are now two distinct growths identical to the source colony. Wouldn't that rule out a metabolite since presumably the two competing species wouldn't have been transferred from red liquid?

Here is an updated pic of a transfer from the first colony. The transferred was performed by streaking the plate with a sterile cotton swab that soaked up some of the pink fluid.

Any ideas on what species this is?

a microscope is needed to determine whether it's mold or something else.

My microscope arrives tomorrow. With your guys help and the microscope guide, I hope to be able to finally identify an unknown organism. That's been a personal learning goal of mine for a while, I've just not yet had an excuse for the investment.
I'll post some updates once I have that (not that you necessarily care) but if you've got any general feedback before I go down the path of taking a mounting a slide with stain from a tissue sample and snapping a pic, I'm all ears.

After another transfer, I was able to isolate the mold away from mycelium. Simultaneously, I have been learning DNA barcoding and decided I would use this culture as my first sample to barcode.
The sequence came back and the organism was identified as Penicilluium rubidurum. It matched a mold barcoded by Pathology University of Texas in 2019 and was isolated from a dog with a respitory infection.
