Beginner trying to ID LAWN NC USA
    #26752681 - 06/17/20 08:06 PM (3 years, 7 months ago)

Hello all, I hope I do this correctly. I have read over the rules and I believe I have most everything together. I am in central NC, USA and I find specimens in my yard quite often and always wondered what species they are. Today I took the notion to pick and try to identify some that I have in my area.

Habitat: In my yard, I have many different trees Oak, Pine, Cherry, Poplar, Maple, Dogwood, Cedar. I generally find MOST in piles of Oak leaves.

Gills: White

Stem: White few streaks of dark brown

Cap: Light brown with white spots(spores?) on top

Spore print: ....waiting...

Bruising: None noticed yet

General location: Oak leaves

This one was growing by itself, but with a couple others near (6-10 inches away) it.

A. amerirubescens is being replaced with several genetically distinct species, it's one of the ones in this group http://www.amanitaceae.org/?Amanita+amerirubescens

I did not expect such a quick response as I have a couple others that I would need some help on.

Habitat: In my yard, I have many different trees Oak, Pine, Cherry, Poplar, Maple, Dogwood, Cedar. I generally find MOST in piles of Oak leaves.

Gills: Yellow, can be seen on top of cap

Stem: Yellowish to light brown

Cap: Yellowy Orange (Looks like a sunny side up egg almost)

Spore print: ....waiting...

Bruising: None noticed yet

General location: Oak leaves
