grow shed advice

Howdy friends! I'm now at the end point of utilizing our 3rd bedroom as a grow area and will be finishing converting it over to a nursery!
I had hoped to find somewhere else in the house for my hobby but we have settled on building something on the side of the house. I'm hoping my plan is feasible and would love some advice on it.
I'm going for a simple 6x12 shed on skids that will be fully insulated. It won't have any windows and I'll be putting in a 12/12 lighting system. Inside walls will be hard plastic for easy cleaning.

I will continue to use 66qt monotubs and have shelves down each side, door on one end and mini split mounted at the other end for cooling/heating.

The pioneer mini split is 12,000 btu and seems to review really well. Currently my grow area is cooled/heated by the house hvac and i have no issues. Should I be ok with the mini split or should I be looking at a different kind of unit? Do you think I'll have issues of too much air flow when its really hot out? It gets over 100 in the summer where I'm at regularly. Very dry heat if that makes any difference.
Will I have need to have some kind of outside vent so it isn't constantly recirculating the same air?
Also, if this is a terrible plan please don't hold back

id suggest armor the bedrooom , get the best equip possible including air handling and filters and double effeciency of grow methods. its easier on security, more mobile.

What do you mean armor the bedroom?
We are expecting a baby and that is why I'm getting kicked out. My only other spot is building something in the garage or sharing a walk in closet with our clothes which is not ideal. I run 10+ tubs at any given time.

You need to get fresh air in there somehow. That mini split is nice. I use the same one.

That is one of the things I need to work out. I was thinking of an exhaust out of the attic.

Not exhaust. Intake is what you need

Mini split isn't the best choice for a mushroom grow, most will get moldy eventually because of the condensate drainage line plus for a fully insulated shed that size it would be ridiculous overkill and they are impossible to clean inside of. You would be better suited with a window unit in my opinion since they can be easily removed and hosed down and cleaned up pretty good plus you could buy at least 3 window units for the cost of a mini split system so even if you replaced it 3 times you would be looking good, plus anyone can install one. You would only need about 8k btu for something that size. You are right to consider airflow issues and in something this size the ac will be blowing right on some of your tubs or whatever most likely. You can hang a sheet of plastic a few feet in front of the ac to sort of baffle the flow.

His room will have tubs, not a misting set up like a real grow room. I have a mini split in my house and it's been rocking for some time now. Like any other ac, the filters need cleaned out once a month. And it is incredibly more efficient than a window unit.

the idea behind the mini split is just efficiency even tho it is definite overkill for the space. A window unit will cost a lot more to operate in our super hot summers.
Another option is one of those rolling, portable ac units at less than half the cost of the mini split. I'm hesitant to spend money on something I could possibly have to replace again anyways.
Yep, I will still use tubs. I will have to mock up some kind of baffle to direct the airflow so it isn't hitting them straight away
I appreciate the replies!

Those rolling portable ac are junk. Use just as much juice as a window unit and don't work as well. Look at getting a 12x12x6 hepa filter. Put it on the inside of the building. On the outside put an inline fan with ducting to the filter. You'll have to make sure there is an overhang in the roof so the fan doesn't suck in rain, ruining your hepa. Use a timer so it comes on for a minute or two every 45 minutes. Don't worry about exhaust, as it will find its own way out.
