Nope, GTG was what the previous poster was referring to. And it turns out well every time.

Not being a dick, but there's no way. I work in front of a hood with almost 2 decades of experience. If I don't follow the rules, I'll get contams. I just looked at a few of your posts...

Please don't advise people to use a spoon to g2g. It doesn't work out every time..or any time for that matter.

that's what I do

I wasn't aware of anyone doing this. I don't get it. How far up the spoon are you sterilizing? Doesn't the handle get hot af? And what about the actual spoon part- how are you cooling it before scooping the spawn? Or are you? The logistics aren't adding up for me

Don't do it. Your results will be far from stellar. Do it the proper way.

I sterilize the whole spoon part very thoroughly... no, the handle does not get hot at all. I understand your confusion. I do this when I do BRF to BRF transfers because you can turn the jar sideways without anything falling out (like they would with groats) and scoop it like ice cream. For groats I would not do this. I just did transfers into 18 new jars the other day this way in a SAB... so far, nothing but mycellium, zero contamination... I'll post pics further down the road.
btw I realize BRF to BRF transfers are unconventional.

Like someone said, shoebox. If that’s still too big to get a reasonable substrate depth/spawn ratio for the amount of grain you have, combine your grain jars if they’re both cubes. Or, find a vessel that’s even smaller than a shoebox and set it inside your shoebox/mono.
What I did with jars I was about to throw away
If you dont wanna spawn them, at least return them to the earth rather than a dumpster, regardless if your location supports their growth...

Please don't post to be rude. Someone was just asking if anyone does it. And I do. And apparently so does someone else. It works for me. Maybe not everyone.
Contamination can happen from lots of different reasons which I have learned about as well. Posting questions I've had on previous jars does nothing to help the thread, nor does it have any relevance to why contamination may have happened. Also, if you actually read those posts, you can see that those didn't happen because of the GTG transfer.
