Had to travel and leave 5 day old shoe boxes behind

So I recently assembled my first 3 shoe boxes with bods tek and it seemed the spawn was colonizing nicely. Then I got the call to go to work. I’ll be gone for about 12 days. I didn’t think much of it until I started reading some of the longer popular shoe box teks while at work. Seems these thing will have probably needed attention before I’m going to get home. Is all hope lost for a shoe box that got made up and will be left for 17-18 days unattended? Thanks for any info.

If you prepared the substrate correctly and didn't leave the lid open enough to dry out your sub, I wouldn't be surprised if you came back to some fruits. It may not be as healthy and strong as a flush that was tended too as needed, but I would say you'll be completely fine.

This actually might be the best thing possible lol.
If you prepped them half way decent they’ll be ok, just put the lid on and leave them somewhere that won’t get too hot. Most people mess with their tubs too much at first.
I say there’s a 90% chance you come home to a tub of ready to harvest mushrooms.

One of the best pieces of advice I got when I first started was to apply the Do Nothing Tek more often than not. Worked wonders for me. I personally probably sabotaged my first 1 or 2 grows more than mold and bacteria did lol.

Thanks for the replies. The lid isn’t on them. It’s done with bods tek that used grocers bags on top. For those first 5 days there was always a good amount of condensation on the inside of the bag. Coir was also prepared per bods tek. Temp is set at 78 and indoor humidity is around 55. Hopefully it all works out!
