Piedmont ID help
    #26748548 - 06/16/20 08:59 AM (3 years, 7 months ago)

It has been raining the past two days in the Piedmont area and it supposed to continue to rain for the rest of the week so there should be plenty of mushrooms sprouting soon. Hopefully I can finally find some actives in my area. Well today I decided to go check a couple of mulch beds in my area to see if I could find anything and to my surprise I found multiple species of mushrooms. All the following were found in mulch beds. Each group is from a different mulch bed location.

Group 1: There were hundreds of these in the mulch bed. Caps are about 1 inch wide.

Group 2: These grew in clusters. I didn't pick any of these. Clusters are about 4 inches wide.

Group 3: They look similar to group 1 but these were found a couple miles down the road in another mulch bed. Caps about 1 inch wide.

Group 4: Found in same area as group 3. Caps are 2-3 inches wide.

Group 5: These were just starting to sprout. Cap about half an inch wide.

Thanks. Any idea what species these are? I have been enjoying going on the hunt even though I haven't found any actives. I also hope to find some good edibles. The only mushrooms I found that I was 100% certain of the species was chanterelles, and they tasted great after cooking them in a little oil and salt.

1 and 3 could be agrocybe pediades. Not sure about the rest. Good luck.
