My mess of a grow kit - big cake, small fc, hella side pins

So yh , I guess my cake was too loose a texture as when I was transferring to my fruiting chamber it crumbled into a pile. I really have no idea what to do. Since then I’ve put it back in the container and compressed it down a bit. It’s now resting in the dark in hopes of the mycelium consolidating more. Any help would be appropriate in what to do I’m really new to this.
Thanks

Yes , maple lol . I soak them and use them for retaining moisture in the chamber and regulating humidity.

Like I said I’m very new to this. Don’t entirely know what you mean but if your asking if I’m planned on fruiting the grains then I guess yes. The Cake actually is from a kit I got , you could fruit in the container but I decided to transfer to the FC to better control the environment.

It needs to go back into a container. Spawn to coir or case.

Do you have any pics of jars before birthing? This thing doesn't look too good. Mycelium should hold everything together.

It wasn’t colonized, and far from consolidated. Those grains will mold soon.

What do suggest i do . I have some coir coming tomorrow, and the cake it back in the container sealed and very hydrated. Should I leave it over night and case with the coir tomorrow and try my luck or is it over.

I’m not going to make any more suggestions with regard to that what once was a kit. That’s up to you. I do suggest you research PF tek and follow it to the letter if you are interested in succeeding.

It’s been nearly 2 weeks since then and there’s progress, not holding on to hope though. So far the mycelium has looked to have consolidated more , there’s been side pinning and my first shroom/ well pins have grown. I’m proud for real. For the side pinning I’ve covered the sides in foil and made sure that light is only hitting the top. Is this looking okay ?
Side note: just look At that one pin on top I’m too happy

At least you're getting something out of it. Now you have some fruits growing you can take a spore print, this way when you get the stuff to grow yourself properly you wont have to worry about getting spores.

You don't need to take the substrate out of its container to be able to fruit it inside a FC.

Yes of course, that was the plan from the start before I messed it up. I’ll collect prints from this if I can and with the mono I got going now I plan to start doing some agar work, from what I’ve been reading it’s the way forward

Yes mate, agar is a game changer. If you get some supplies quick you can even get ahead and grab a clone! This is only the beginning my friend

Cloning sound fun , I like the idea of being able to visibly pick out whatever genetics interest you and trying to further isolate that. For my mono I have PES Amazonian going. The grain wasn’t mine but I know it’s not MS, so far that in general has been colonising really fast so I’d like to clone some fruit when it comes to it.

Cracked caps like that's indicate very dry environment, the entire surface of the fruitng substrate is dry aswell.
