Can't save .jpg files.

Whenever I try to save a picture from the internet, it only lets me save it as a .bmp file. This isn't a huge problem since I can then convert it to .jpg format, but it's annoying. How can I fix this problem?

you should be able to change the "save as type" value at the bottom of the save screen...

Sounds like AOL, is that what you have? If so, get rid of it!

Nope. It only has .bmp as an option.

Clear out your temp internet files and restart IE. That should fix it. To clear out these files, goto the Tools menu and choose Internet Options. In the dialog that shows up, right in the middle is a button labeled "Delete files." Click this and it will erase your temporary internet files. It may take a while depending on your system. Once this is done, hit "ok" then close Internet Explorer and the re-open it and all should be well
