How to be part of the mush cult community. * 8
    #26746619 - 06/15/20 01:31 PM (3 years, 7 months ago)

So I have been noticing alot of new growers lately and also noticing alot of new comments about how stuck up the community is on the shroomery. I wanted to create a guide line of things and make a post with some things that I think are helpful to becoming part of the community here. There is a difference between membership and community.

1. Be polite and respectful. Simple as that.
2. Encourage other members and offer advise if you are knowledgeable about the subject matter.
3. Remember that as a community our #1 problem deals with old outdated or just bad information about teks or growing parameters.
4. That being said, please don't push untested information or technique as science unless it has been peer reviewed.
5. People may question your methods, and that is ok, don't get offended and lash out if someone asks why you do something that isn't normal to them. Learning is experimenting. But make sure to label it as an experiment.
6. Post your results. People will look at the age of an account, post count, and successful grows. There isn't always a TC around to help, but Journaling your experience can go along way to build credibility.
7. If you get upset, go watch TV or build a flow hood. Sometimes it is better to step away for a few hours than just lash back out and start an online argument.
8. Post pictures, no one can tell you how your doing with out a visual representation of the moment your experiencing.
9. FOLLOW proven TEK. Plenty of them out there.
10. Use the search engine!

I can dig it Sockadin. More chill, more mush, less negativism which is a cooler word than negativity.

One thing I notice is that a lot of people don’t show up posting until they have problems. And by then they’ve probably got a month or so and some cash invested and the last thing they want to hear is that stuff is messed up. The most humane approach is to break the news with tact, but sometimes the issue is bizarre or funny and people can’t help themselves. Or they give a “toss it” and the person with the problem is like :mad2:

I like the shroomery. I don’t have any kind of social media and definitely no real life friends worth the name so this place is cool to have around. I work in an office with people that think golf and whiskey are the pinnacle of human achievement and they scoff at the perceived lowly-ness of the humble fungi.

I was thinking about you when I wrote it. That is to say. What about Roger? How has he so quickly become at least in my opinion a respected member of the current cult community.

You treat every one with respect.
You help others by sharing information you learned through the process.

Your account is relatively new but alot of us listen to what you have to say. Because it is informative and you have success.

You share your grows.

So  I basically used you to think through how to make this post. Thanks!

It's funny your the first person to respond. Haha

Lol, proof of no life!

I was a member before years ago though which helps. I already know a decent amount of stuff and wasn't intimidated about posting and answering like newer people sometimes are. I racked up a gang of posts pretty quickly because it seemed to help me remember things and get right back in the groove by answering questions and checking out what everyone was up to.

And i've been getting real into the mind and psychedelics and I think mushrooms played a big part in our evolution from lower primates. So now I'm on here hoping everyone else grows a bunch and spreads them around and gets more people into it and we end up with more creative people figuring out crazy things. The more of that that happens the quicker it will be decriminalized I think.

It's got the cheesy sound to it but I think if 25% of our adult population would eat 5 grams of cubes this weekend it would start a snowball of greatness.

Grind them up and put them in the blue pill. Or the red, I don't remember. Can you believe that the Matrix is 20 years old?

Hey guys, as someone who is relatively new to this community but not super new to the world of mycology, I appreciated this post. I definitely used this site a lot during my research but I was actually able to pull off 1 successful grow and found a love for it, so here I am. Thanks for being a part of the community beforehand, so I could finally find a place here.

Yep, and I've been lurking and providing some advice. I am absolutely fascinated with fungi, especially psilocybin containing species obviously. But I'm running 6 different species right now in different stages (gourmet and some psilocybes). I just wanna spread the good word

Right on man.

I want to add, and it’s important, be willing to do the work and put in time. :spank:
It’s crazy to me how many people have been rolling in demanding to be spoon fed the must fundamental information available on many many sticky and linked threads.

Those are the ones that seem to run home crying.
