People exchange spit droplets talking to each other and always have. I know sneezing or coughing in someone's face is taboo in our society but it's not a crime anymore than calling someone a name is.
You avoid public if you don't want stranger's spit droplets, fart gas, or their free speech to affect you

That's not how personal liberty works in this country.
Also people wear pants. idk about you. but most people, when they're in public, wear both underwear and pants.

If you've smelled a fart. You're smelling gas that was in someone else's rectum. Public is nasty and dangerous stay home if it offends you

Imagine how many fewer that could be if the US had a proper lockdown and mask use
like New Zealand

I like that they mitigate dysphoria from a mannish face
there's laws being pressed to prevent people from wearing them more generally, as an obstruction of facial features
covid may be our last chance!
there is no way covid is going to be our last chance

Serious question though, how likely is someone to get it if they had to ride in an ambulance to a major hospital in Philly or a major population center? Philly's not seen the same magnitude of issues as NYC, and took some pretty extreme measures pretty fast, but it's a lot smaller and still has 23k recorded cases. And have we narrowed down an incubation period? Is it still two weeks or is it shorter?

There will be others. We just might not be around anymore when the next big one comes around. Or maybe we will. Or maybe we won’t. You get the point.
Edit- I would think you have about the same chances as always

From today shops selling non essential items are allowed to open, apparently their have been queues outside some, coinciding with, for the first time masks being made mandatory on public transport.
I got on a bus today wearing mine as I have done since before I first posted this pic 04.26.20. I was accustomising myself to wearing it, believing it would be made compulsory very soon anyway. Less than 50% of the passengers were wearing a mask, one got on wearing one then as soon as she sat down took it off. FFS.
The bus driver said nothing. I don't expect them to refuse to allow a passenger to board, but I would expect them to at least mention it, and the fact that the CCTV cams are recording them, and that face recognition apps will used to find them and they will be sent a fine in the next post, even if that 'isn't a thing'...Yet.
Oh, by the way, note to self, I really should remember to use my sun glasses too. The eyes are as vulnerable as the nose and mouth.

They absolutely should kick them off. Defeats the entire purpose of masks.
People will literally roast your stupid ass straight out of the store around here if you try and walk in one without a mask. And surprise surprise, people wear them, and we're still trending down despite increasing testing and reopening.

Good to hear people are strident advocates where you live. I was reticent in saying anything as all the people that weren't wearing masks, including the woman that took hers off on the bus, were foreigners. I gave them the benefit of the doubt, whilst tutting under my breath, that they hadn't learned of, or misunderstood the new rule. My reticence will wear thin in the coming weeks.

Not likely at all unless another passenger was contagious. Normal mild symptoms almost always start 2-5 from the point of infection. 14 days is considered in the clear. If symptoms occur you no longer need to self-quarantine after two days of no symptoms or fever without a fever reducer like Tylenol.
I don’t think clinics and hospitals are any more dangerous than a crowded Walmart. If you need medical care in person you should get it. You did the right thing.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m taking every precaution I can but I’m also coming to terms with the reality that there’s no stopping it now in America so it’s probably more damaging as a stressor than a virus in terms of factors that you can control.

Thankyou for the answer! I have a medically complex nephew that had to take a lil ride the other day. He's okay now, I'm just a little worried about an entire chunk of my family potentially being exposed. My brother is one of those super athletic people that has still for some reason always has had blood pressure issues that he's needed meds to control since he was practically a teenager, and I worry about him too.
