1st Rye Grain colonization attempt via MS - Any feedback?

The rye grain was inoculated with a spore syringe. Took about 1-2 weeks to germinate. Shook on 3-4 week, and recovered most of the jars in 2-3 days. When shook, smelled like fresh mushrooms.

Bottom left side of jar looks questionable, but not exactly sure why the texture is slightly different. Im assuming the shake didnt break up the consolidated clumps of mycelium.

Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

You got mycelium in there. The problem with shooting with spores is you wont really know for sure if you have a clean culture. So long as you dont get funky colors and suspicious spots, you can spawn them

But dont be surprised if upon spawning, you get contaminants. Learn agar bro.

Thanks for the reply Pablo. I currently do have monocultures from clones available & am working on my 2nd transfer from ms on agar, which was used from the same syringe that i inoculated the grains, and appeared to be contaminant free on the agar.
Would it be safe to assume since the agar was contaminant free that the grains would be as well?
Also, do you think its a bad idea to g2g these Ms inoculated grains?

Testing MS on agar gives you an idea of the quality of the syringe, but all you are really testing is that 1 ml of spore solution. you dont know whats in the rest of the syringe. That first pic looks kosher, but that second one looks a lil lumpy. when they reach 90% or so take a few pics of different angles of the jars so we can check again.

Thanks for the explanation Manifold, that makes sense. The 2nd image did have the uniform rhizomorphic initially, however upon shaking it at around 40%, it ended up looking the way it does, which is currently i would say around 90%. Isn't it normal for spawns that were broken up and shook to lose its original germination/colonization appearance?
Here's another angle and close up shot:
