I think I'm pretty much done for the season now so will most likely just be sharing pictures, and updates on my backyard. I'd actually taken a small piece of turf with some fruit and was transplanting it when I discovered there was some already there (my backyard). I guess fate has been on my side.
They are out there man, I'm sure you'll have some more luck soon.
Yeh I don’t mind coming up empty handed really I saw some crazy shrooms and it’s dope to get outside, I enjoy the hunt and I am just stoked to know how to find/identify properly.
If you or anyone out there has any tips on boosting growth of an outdoor wood chip patch - the small patch I transplanted has fruited once, just wondered if there’s anything I should do to keep them going. The original site is gone now.
- thanks Auckland council - just a replant of the garden bed tho - not trying to actively destroy shrooms.

Went back this morning to scan the rest of my territory... Some big tall monsters were hiding deep in the bushes, heaps of people know about this patch. They don't scan the whole area and bush dive or lift the flax leaves like I do though, so all these go over their heads and into my bag. I took some cool photos to share anyway.

That photo of the Psilocybe tasmaniana looks very much like 2 I found a few days ago. I left them because I wasn't sure and unfortunately didn't get any pictures. I'll be keeping an eye on that area and try to get an ID if they come up again

Quick patch stop to exhaust what was left. Waiting for more rain now for the pins to go off

Checked this spot this morning, it had been fully pillaged of pins a couple of weeks ago.

I’m pretty much only looking at consuming once or twice a year so no need really. But yeah it is tempting.

Yeah each to their own anyway. Most of my stoner friends really like them and they rely on me to hunt for them because they don't know enough about how to identify them and are not as passionate about mushrooms as much as I am to be bothered to go hunting. They just enjoy the trip.
Besides needing to stock up for my mates, I do consume fairly often myself so I need to bulk up when I can.
I have tripped a couple of time this year and micro dosed. I have to admit I’m feeling a lot better because of it.

Hey starting again I'm a bit like you in that I only intend on tripping a few times a year, so far only once. I have also started microdosing which is sort of what drew me back into the search. It's only been three weeks of once every 3 days 0.1g. I guess I had high (pun intended) hopes due to anecdotal accounts however I can't say I've really noticed a difference in my day to day mindset. Any thoughts? what's your experience?

well hello there got some pics to share from the last few weeks - only moved to NZ from the UK about 6months ago so was understandably excited about being in a place with quite such a variety of interesting native and introduced species! having only experience picking libs I had been dreaming of stumbling across cyan patches back home but it never happened
so of course I start scanning flower beds for weeks on end whenever moving around the city to no availa, blame it on dry weather and kind of give up until wetter season moves in. just happen to go on a walk up the hills out of town and once at the top start seeing that all too familiar scrubby grass/moorland reminding me of the hills of yorkshire and cornwall... then BAM - unmistakable little pointy golden bois only 2 of them a few mil across each
and of course there turned out to be a few more in the area
Psilocybe Semilanceata

only about 25 in total after a good hours looking but maan they were strong, stained a solid inky dark blue on the stem. split them with my gf plus 50ug of lsd each and got a solid +3 experience.
was pretty dang stoked to find them (wellington region) as I had been led to believe they only grew towards the middle/bottom of south island - definiltey made me feel at home
Also took photos of a bunch of other mush I found there for shits and giggles, looked back through and I think I might have skipped over some P. tasmaniana or alutacea!?

(apologies for wierd filters on some these - sky was bright reflecting on my phone screen managed to hit some options without realising)
skip forward a few weeks and we had a solid 5 days of rain - spotted these beds and what turned out to be galerinas out of a car window and went back to check later, boooy that was a GOOD idea.
Psilocybe Subaeruginosa

dense clusters!

ended up with 42g cracker dry from a ten/fifteen minute pick ..Left the smallest 3rd to mature and went back a week later to find a completely empty bed. 100m of chip completely devoid of any kind of fungal life I had assumed the fruits would survive longer than that? but I guess it has been extremely hot and dry this last week. (assuming not picked as all the galerinas and a half dozen other species had gone too)
still not bad for a relative newbie to the country imho

You jammy bastard! Well done! Very well. Enjoy the bounty, and welcome to our (not so humble) pacific island (large survival rafts)...& if I may ask, are you situated more North or South?

This is hopeful. . . Far more north than Dunedin. . .
I have been gifted some Psilocybe Semilanceata prints and was wondering if there is any reason to try to noc’ some grain and spread in the Auckland region. . .
Am going to try because ‘mushrooms’
May need some more jars and sfd's. . . Too many outdoor native spawn jars floating. . .😬
