Active identification needed by trusted identifiers (south Louisiana) gold spores
    #26742723 - 06/13/20 09:15 PM (3 years, 7 months ago)

I would love to know what these are. I live in an area where its common for me to find many coprophilous  mushrooms , in my yard even.
Well, each year I make a medium sized batch of mushroom compost.  You know long method, synthetic compost.  Well these have been growing from an area where I had a small spill of compost 6 months ago. The images are from February 2020 until today.

Any help would be nice.

Cool cubes, you should try to cultivate these

Those prints look crazy, almost like glitter or something

This appears to be Psilocybe cubensis redspore.
A small variation that became popular a few years back, I still have some unused spore prints lying around of these, looks just like yours.

. Just wanted to ask you trustees,  thanks

I guess it struck me odd to have found these golden colored spores. That was the factor that made me question,  since the spores were gold or light,  the gills were too, hence the confusion.

Cubensis for sure, really cool looking ones at that! I can't see any resemblance to panaeolus whatsoever. Psilocybe/panaeolus hybridization isn't something that can happen, if you wondered.

Yes, I understand this, I guess I phrased it wrong. When I seen the gills poking out much more from underneath the cap  It reminded me of the way the panoleous that my friend grows look.  That is what I meant.

Thanks  again,  I appreciate it alot
