How many qt spawn jars can one brick feed?

So I was using the substrate calculator because I have 8 spawn jars on rye ready to be spawned to bulk. The calculator gave me a confusing total that hardly makes sense to my dumbass. Also I tried to understand bhodisattas bucket TEK to figure out how much bulk stuff I need but I don’t get the math on his TEK either. Is there a simple minded way to figure out how much coco coir I need for 8 jars, and also how much water is needed to pasteurize it . I need to learn this ASAP because my jars are ready to roll.

One 600g brick to 3-4 quart jars of spawn sounds about right.
For hydration, 1:5 by weight will get you close but you'll need to figure out field capacity for yourself - I have one brand of coir that takes 1:5.5, and another that turns to soup with that much water despite being ostensibly the same product.
The ratio of spawn to bulk (with coir, at least) doesn't seem to be absolutely critical as long as it's within the right ballpark. When you're experienced and trying to maximise yield, minimise cycle time, or get your fruits to grow a certain way that might not hold true, but I wouldn't know.

So 2 bricks of coir is pretty much what I need to make 16 jars of coir correct? So if a brick is 650g multiplied by 2 is 1300g and then the bucket tek by bhodisatta says multiply that by 5 for how much water you need. So do I need to cut or smash up the bricks and coir and put into quart jars to be accurate Just wanna know the most fool proof way to find out exactly how much coir I need for x amount of spawn jars, how much water I need for the coir to pasteurize it. I don’t get the ratios cas I can’t keep up. I am clueless when it comes to ratios, rather do percentages or work the math to figure it out. I couldn’t figure out what the math on BODS TEK was pertaining to exactly

I've never measured, but should be roughly correct.

Yep, somewhere between 4.5x and 5.5x should get you where you want to be.

No, but it does help to split it along the grain into sheets so that it absorbs the water more evenly without you having to dive into a cooler full of boiling muck.

Options are:
- Learn the math (pre-algebra and algebra I)
- Prep extra coir and measure the prepared coir volumetrically (4 quarts per quart of spawn or what have you), then let the excess dry and save it for next time.
- Make roughly the right amount of coir (say, one brick for every four quart jars of spawn) and just deal with the fact that your spawn ratio is going to vary a bit from grow to grow.
