Next on my outing.
I found mushrooms,  on cowpie.
Very small mushrooms,  in cluster.
Already dried up.
One should not eat unidentified,  small dried mushrooms on cowpie right?

Next on my outing.
I found what I believe is fungus growing on fungus.
I am pretty sure the mushroom was edible, but either, was strange mushroom,  or had something growing on it?

This mushroom was growing on the grass on the lake-side of the dune.  Yes I agree on not eating many shrooms until you can identify them with a degree of confidence.  I believe Agrocybe Preacox is edible, as well as the King mushroom.  I gotta say that dried Agrocybe smells like old sneakers.  I haven’t had time yet to see what the chemical breakdown is with those yet.  That grilled King I found was delicious.

Spore-prints and blueing, cap remnants on top of stem, and a clear epidermal sticky layer in cap (Stamets) for “Mushies”.  I’m getting a microscope because you can’t always tell about mushrooms because of variability based on conditions in the environment where you find them.  Examining the spores would be the final test.  However, that being said, one needs to educate oneself on all mushrooms, edible or not.

Today’s Michigan finds.  Kent County, there was a lot of steady rain there last night.  I’m still working on identifying these.  Looks promising.

What you have is a mixed collection. You need to properly distinguish different species of mushrooms if you plan on consuming them. That being said you do appear to have collected panaelous mushroom in the 3 and 4th pic that could be potentially psychedelic. if you are in michigan these are really your only chance of getting a free trip. They are extremely common right now. Look up panaeolus cinctulus. Here is pics of one i just picked today from a lawn.

Pics 1,2,5 & 6 Are Conocybe Apala (Poisonous)

Pics 3 & 4 Is A Panaeolus Sp, Possibly Panaeolus Cinctulus (Mildly Active)

Pics 7 & 8 Looks To Be Psathyrella Sp (Non Active)

Pics 9 & 10 I Can't Really Tell, But I'd Guess Coprinoid Sp (Non Active)

Why do you think they are cinctulus? They could be anything.

Found in clusters in wood chips two days after a hard rain in an urban setting; a month ago.  Interesting how the sun dried them out like that; I brought them home and put them in the freezer.  Don’t sweat it guys, I’m not consuming anything, just learning.  This is a hobby that takes time to learn and it takes time to educate oneself.

Today’s finds.

Oysters from buried log perhaps?

Growing out of exposed maple roots.

These were growing in my yard.  Look like death caps but no bulbous end.

Panaeolus cinctulus.

Two days of steady rain here in West Michigan, finally.  All the mushrooms were found in parks.  I’ll be  in the woods tomorrow for a few hours.  Hit me back.....

Last is Agrocybe..... brown spore print.  The other wood digester there should be a Conocybe.  Here is the blackish purple spore print from the Panaeolus....
