When to take profits from stock

if there are any experienced investors out there, when would you sell your shares?
I have a relatively diverse portofio with a half decent amount invested,
the entire portfolio is currently up with a profit of about 52 percent, some of my investments are up over 120%+
I'm wondering whether or not to take that profit now or not, I'm in New Zealand and as of today we have no COVID cases and are basically back to normal. I expect my portfolio to gain from this, however I'm concerned that we may have another market crash in the near future.
but I also know trying to time the market is basically a waste of time.

It depends what your objectives and strategy is. You might want to hold them until well into retirement. Or you might want to take your profits (or losses) every single day.

I would honestly hold on to them for now. Out here in Delaware (basically stuck in the middle of it), things are pretty much back to normal. I only expect a crash when the government starts talking about going back into quarantine.

As stated it really depends on your goals. If its a discretionary account with play money. Have fun. Pull profits and find something else you think might pop.
If its your retirement then that’s a whole other story.

Like pretty much everyone has said, it depends.
Are you investing in stocks that give you dividends? If so, and those are the profits you're receiving, I generally immediately re-invest any gain that I make. Same with if I switch up my portfolio. I'm attempting to just let my nest egg grow as much as I can.
But it's also a sum of money that if I lost everything, I'd still be fine and stable.
If you reached your goals for a quick buck? Sure pull them.
If you're attempting to get as much as you can for retirement? Probably not.
Though this is just the opinion of a regular dude, I'm not a broker or anything. I just like playing with my money.
