Pressure Cooker?

Is this pressure cooker good enough to sterilize the grain spawn jars?
https://www.bestbuy.com/site/insignia-6qt-multi-function-pressure-cooker-stainless-steel/6263602.p?skuId=6263602&ref=212&loc=1&extStoreId=608&ref=212&loc=DWA&ds_rl=1260402&gclid=Cj0KCQjwz4z3BRCgARIsAES_OVeIDomcKw07HLXZ0PUP7PWsT_qRqHeddEPMKs5T2R4S5jDBsaxgC04aAh4zEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds
I watched a video of a guy sterilize his spawns with an InstantPot and it only has a working PSI of 10-11. I assume this cooker would be the same. If not could you point me in the right direction of a affordable pressure cooker.

Maybe. But why bother? Its only 6 qts. Youd be lucky to fit 2 jars in it. For another $25-$30 or so you could get a 23qt Presto, and if money is tight, you could probably find a used one for around the same price as that instapot.

When dealing with pressure canners never cheep out. Spend the extra buck to get a good model that can maintain 15 psi Easley. You will not regret it. With the insta pots you are maxing out the capacity for the units and are still under 15 psi, not to mention they tend to explode..

I donโt plan on doing more than 1 at a time then transferring to bulk substrate. How many jar do you think I could fit in this one?
This looks so sketchy, I looked at the user manual and all of the technical specifications are... blacked out. So, yea...

I would highly recommend you get a presto 23qt pressure cooker, you can still do one jar at a time but you will not be limited to one jar only.

Here this one is at a good price. Under 50. And will hold more then one jar at a time. If you arent gonna do quart jars of grain, or agar type work you can stick to PF cakes. The one I linked holds 7 maybe 9 if it is tall enough to lay 2 on their sides.

I just typed in pressure cookers and that came up. If you are cheap and shop around you can find really good deals. If the OP does a little research he should be good.

I did some jars in an instant pot a couple years back. Not sure what size it was, but I could squeeze 3 qt jars into it. I ran it extra long because if the lower psi- I think like 2 1/2 or 3 hrs. It worked perfectly fine. It just took forever to sterilize a handful of jars

Having had an AA921 and the Presto 23qt, I can say I like the Presto better. The AA is built like a tank, and would probably last several lifetimes, plus it just looks cool, but the Presto holds the same amount of jars, the jiggle weight is a lot quieter, and its like 1/3 of the price.

An instant pot is great for agar or LI, or even if you're just looking to prep a couple grain masters or something. Just set the timer and let it do it's thing(with virtually zero water loss). You can turn it on and go to bed or leave for the day. I definitely like having a large pressure canner as well as an instant pot

For an inexpensive pressure cooker I highly recommend the Presto 23qt. It is the largest size PC you are going to be able to get below $100 and perfect for our needs, you can fit 10 quart jars inside it or 4, 5-6quart spawn bags.
They are also inexpensive enough that you can buy more than one and be able to sterilize the same amount at one time as a very large PC.
I own a Presto 23 and a 21qt All American PC that I converted with AA sterilizer parts.
The All American PCs/Sterilizers are *very* expensive but they are so worth the price. They are made from machined aluminum, all the parts are completely replaceable and they should last more than one lifetime. They also have high resale value. I really love mine. I think they are a great investment IF you can afford one, at any size.
For first PC though, I say go with Presto 23qt

I ordered a 23 quart by calling Presto Tuesday a week ago. The website showed them to be out of stock but Presto was happy to hook me up via the phone. Cost was $110 with no shipping or sales tax. Received the PC 8 days after ordering. I believe ordering directly from Presto is the best deal currently available on a new PC. 800-877-0441

Because of my 10.5 to 11.5 hour workday, I like the 16 or 17 quart Prestos. Prepping grain and PC'ing 7 jars at a time is all I have time for.

I have a similar schedule. Sometimes 12-14 hour days. Seems I can only prep grains on weekends. Other aspects of the hobby are manageable before or after work, but prepping grains and running a couple of PC cycles takes time.

Damn!! Nice score! I would have bought 2 more myself haha.
I just got a sick hot plate because where I live now has a glass stovetop I can't use. I hooked it up to a timer so once it gets up to pressure I can set it to shut off automatically when the cycle is done. I have an AA 921 converted to sterilizer and a Presto 23. If I had two more Prestos I'd grab another hot plate and using spawn bags I could almost 100 quarts of grain in 6 hours
