1 jar dunk???
    #2674040 - 05/13/04 04:52 PM (12 years, 11 months ago)

When trying to birth a bunch of jars, I had to manhandle one particular cake a little more than I was comfortable with (I never got it out) I thought I probably contaminated it, so I stuck it aside under my kitchen counter. I dug it out yesterday - it's been under there for over a week - I opened it up and it still looked ok. I decided to give it a dunk and it's still in my fridge since last night.

I want to do something with it, but I'm not going to put it into my fruiting chamber for obvious reasons.

Anyone have any suggestions on anything I can do as an experiment or something?....I'm not worried if i waste it....

Even as the nineteenth century had to come to terms with the notion of human decent from apes, we must now come to terms with the fact that those apes were stoned apes. Being stoned seems to have been our unique characteristic.

If your worried Just make a single cake fruiting chamber out of a 2 or 3 liter soda bottle. Then just add some perlite in the bottom, and treat it just like your big chamber only smaller.its probably fine though.

Butternut squash are softer than acorn or other types of squash, which makes them easier to cut and prepare.

I pick all my cakes up without washing my hands, and coming of the dirty subways and trains of chicago I must pick up some nasties on my way home.

Once they are fully colonized you would be suprised how much abuse they can take.

That's true, but don't underestimate contams. If you get a black one or a green on the cake is done for... first hand experience :frown: :mushroom2:
