re-innoculate
    #2673664 - 05/13/04 01:20 PM (20 years, 8 months ago)

ok, i think im a retard and so one of my jars was only innoculated on one side from my carelessness. The jar is growing extremely slow on the only spot thats growing so im wondering if its a bad idea to inject some karo mycelium into the other side i made a hole on.

The myc should eventually take over the entire jar, so unless you are in a rush to grow them in the first place, then I wouldn't risk additional contams...

Although, if the mycelium has already taken over at least 50% of the jar, it will probably be fairly resistant to most contams. Why worry about injecting mycelium unless completely necessary? I suppose you could pull it off, but I wouldn't suggest it...

I second adoseofparnOz, it can be done, but its better
to just wait and let the cake colonise.
