cut into as many small pieces as possible
is far better to have many inoculation points
as if spawning to grain, it will speed
it up a lot, the more pieces there are.

I think thats what you asked?

We are referring to inocing grain with agar wedges are we not ?
Well then Loki has led you in the right direction , but if you cut them too small they have a tendecy to stick to the walls of the jar , not much of a problem .
Cousin IT finds if you cut them into triangular shape pieces about 1\2 at the widest point , place 3 of them into a jar , you get many inocs from one petri dish that way . And do not forget to transfer a choice piece onto a new dish of agar , so you have some more for inocs down the road . If capable and have a choice strain store some in a test tube with mineral oil on top , this is for long term storage of strains one wishes to reproduce in the future .
Good Luck

Actually I inoculated one rye jar with  an half agar myce as a whole(before this post)and it's fully colonized in one week.I  shook the jar once after inoc. and the agar myce contacted the grains so there were myce. on the kernels even far from the agar. And now I decide to go G2G. :wink:however you're right on the topic about inoc. points.I would have inoc. more jars with this post.Next time!
Thanks for feedbacks!
