Woodchips decomposing creating to much heat?

I have a question regarding growing a wood loving specie outdoors in a patch.
Azurescens. and fresh maple wood chips, with a bit of leaf debris .
Im wondering about the temperature of the wood chip patch as it decomposes and generates heat. COnsidering there is some green leaf matter in my material
it feels pretty hot and Im wondering if it will kill my mycelium if I spawn the patch.
I basically plan to soak the wood chips for a whole day, then make the patch with a bunch of azure spawn I have.
I never considered the heat from the composting wood chips being an issue until I felt the pile and she was flippin hawt.
And advice is much appreciated.

I wouldn’t expect to produce enough heat to effect fungal growth, unless it were more akin to a compost pile and a few feet deep, and wide. That would be my understanding. Saprotrophic mushrooms grow in wood chips, so I don’t know why your wood chips would produce more heat than any others. Maybe I misunderstood. I’m not sure if green plant material would hinder fungal growth, or in what quantities it may. As far as I know, decomposing leaves would also need to be quite deep and wide to produce much heat. Just my opinion. Hope it helps.

Thanks for your input.
I think with the wood chips i have there was quite a bit of green leaf material mixed in making the carbon to nitrogen ratio a bit more like a compost pile? Im not sure, although it was quite hot.
Suprisingly I cant find information on temperatures of wood chip piles and mycelium health anywhere.
Ill keep digging for more info. Thanks again.
