Very slow colonisation

I Inoculated my jars a month ago. They are halve pint containing BRF and mazatapec spore water. Everything seems to be ok, they are fully colonised since a week ( or at least thats what I though since they are completely white outside ) But then I opened one to prepare bulk substrate and surprise!! they are not fully colonised in the center of the cake.
Is that normal? How long am I supposed to wait? How do I know they are ready?

Usually one week after full colonization will do. You could still spawn it. if its been that long sometimes things stall break them up and let them recolonize just make sure you take off any dry verm barrier first. take a whiff through you air exchange and make sure they smell like mushrooms sometimes there is invisible contam and they will not colinize that area.

One month should be enough for 100% colonization of a brf half pint, maybe contam. I have always just waited when doing the PF Tek until I see in vitro Hyphal Knots forming before birthing and dunking.

They smell amazing! and look good also, but I see no signs of contamination. Maybe they didn't have enough space due to.... small verm? too much verm on top that causes pressure when closing the lid?
How to let them recolonise? take dry verm off, break them and put them back in the jar? Or somewhere else? This is my first time and I need to succeed, it has been a lot of effort, learning and money and I have like 20 more jars that look similar.

You mean you always wait until it starts pinning? But what to do if after a month they are not fully colonised but clean?

Some members recommend a consolidation period of one week after they see 100% visual colonization of myc. Some, generally just wait for pinning to begin inside of the jar before birthing.
By clean, do you mean they have no pins yet, or clean as in there is zero Myc growth?
If I see no pins or Hyphal Knots, but I can't visually see any contams either, then I will allow them a few more weeks to colonize. Genetics can sometimes make for a slow colonizer, sometimes contamination (smell doesn't always give away contamination).
What Tonz is recommending is that you take it and break up your partially colonized cakes into straight Coco Coir or about ~80% Coir to ~20% Vermiculite for an example.
