Help with casing experiment please

Hello
I’ve been following BOD’s Easy AF Unmodified Monotub Tek,and with great success. Spawn to coir, straight into fruiting, etc.
A few weeks ago I bought Roger Rabbit’s videos. And became intrigued over the casing aspects: BOD’s Tek doesn’t use casing. So I wondered, do you get the same yield from the Tek whether or not you case. Casing I thought would add at least two weeks to his Tek, so what more do you get for the additional two to three weeks?
So I spawned 2 tubs of Psilocybe Cubensis red boy: one I put straight into fruiting, nd one I sealed and put in a dark room. At 11 days, the first was showing pins. At 14 days, I cased the second tub (peat moss, verm, like, gypsum) with about half an inch. Sealed it up and put back in dark room.
That was 2 days ago.
But I can see pins at the divide where the casing layer meets the substrate, and one pin has shot straight through the casing layer. About 0% of the casing layer is colonised.
So basically people, I’m really puzzled. Has the small amount of time the lid was off while I cased been enough to start fruiting in the second tub? Should I still wait for the casing layer to be 25% colonised before introducing the tub to fruiting. Or should I do it now?
Many thanks for any advice. DJ Ed

Casing layer is only necessary for PE. 12/12 light cycle for all stages of growth. Tubs can be in fruiting conditions immediately.

Ok, good to know. So basically casing cubensis is pointless, and only serves to add a few weeks to the grow?
Update: here are the tubs, both multi-spore (got isolated Rhizo on agar now):-
Tub 1:

Tub 2:

Regular cubes and even APE don't need any kind of casing. I've tried pseudo-casing layers, didn't think they helped. Only PE benefits from a true casing layer. Tub 1 looks great. Tub 2, can't see shit.

Yeah, i should have taken the lid off! The pin through the casing is just to the right of the red boy white label.
So there’s no benefit? Maybe leading to heavier second or third flushes, maybe?
Cheers DJ Ed

Casing shouldn’t add any time to the grow, certainly not weeks.
Whether or not the casing gets colonized depends on when you add it and to some extent your culture.
Ime a top layer of coir at spawn does basically the same thing as far as cubes go.

‘Nuff said! I’ve put it into fruiting.
