Propane burner for PC troubleshooting

Where I live now only has an electric glass stovetop I can't run my PC on. I bought a propane burner so I can run just run it outside - I chose the burner instead of a hot plate so I can also use it to pasteurize 55 gallon drums of straw.
I am having problems though. The first problem is I don't seem to be able to regulate the flame height at all. There is a red knob on the gas hook up that I thought would turn the gas up or down but it seems to do absolutely nothing. When I have it closed and open the gas on the tank, the gas starts flowing and I can light the stove. I can't seem to regulate the flame height by opening or closing the gas valve on the tank either.

Second problem is the wind. This unit doesn't have a wind shield and any breeze seems to snuff if out, which is no good. If I can get this thing working I think I'm going to have to make some sort of shield around it - anyone else have this problem?
It's a GasOne unit, 100,000 BTU
Thanks

AA recommended 11000btu burner for the 941 and 12kbtu maximum. I would suggest looking for a quality burner with flame adjustment. The regulator just checks the exit pressure not the flame.
With a smaller burner the flame pressure will be higher and it won't blow out as easily.

Thank you
I figured out what the confusion was too , the instructions that came with my burner are for a unit with a second knob to adjust the flame, but my unit just has the red pressure regulator. Can't use it if I can't adjust the flame
I think I'm gonna return this, and try to find a hot plate to run the PC on. When it's time to pasteurize straw I'll get a new propane burner - a better one with a flame adjustment and wind shields
