ID Request, NZ Auckland

Found these in a odd place, they were growing in a hanging wicker plant basket in a chicken wire covered vege garden, based in west Auckland. It most likely was store bought soil.
They seem a bit on the older side, so there's definitely some discoloration on the top of the caps, but the gills look healthy, they have a brown colour to them.
The older ones are about ten cms in stem height, with a diameter of less than a cm, with a light brown to brown shade, with relatively thin stems.
I have a spore print in the works atm, but the ones that rubbed off on the paper looked brown also.
They bruised very blue when I first picked them, and have faded to a more dark brown now.
They smell like shrooms from past

Looks to me like they are waterdamaged Psilocybe Cyanescens. Were they growing in any wood chips or perhaps even on the wicker basket if it was decaying?

Psilocybe subaeruginosa is more likely, psilocybe cyanescens is quite rare in NZ. Possible though.

Since when were Ps. Cyans found in NZ?

Since quite recently. There's a couple of observations on inaturalist. Most observations are likely subs, but I think it's confirmed by dna.

Yeah the two bunches were growing on the edge of the wicker basket in between the soil and wicker and it was definitely a bit decayed.

Does water damage effect potency?

Damn thats fucking amazing! Those certainly look like cyanescnes. Water damage won't neccesarily destroy too much potency, some, but more important is bacteria and other rot during drying them that could make you sick. If you do dry them and consume them, I'd definitely make them into tea.
