Growing subs in SGFC 1

Hey guys, seasons on the way here so I’ve started my own little home grow. I collected some mushrooms out of the ground with some surrounding substrate. The first photo is just over a week old, the second photo is from 4 days ago, and the last two are today’s. Some of the mushrooms were sizeable enough to harvest so I did, but overnight some of the others that I left growing went darker (maybe waterlogged?) There’s quite a bit of mycelium growing under the cardboard. I’ve made a “proper” SGFC (50L tub with holes every 2” and perlite) but because this has been working I haven’t moved it into there. Any ideas why the change in growth? Or any tips? This is my first attempt. Thanks for reading.

I am very interested in this.
You're growing those indoors? What temperature? How much water? Misting? Humidity?
I've heard people have a lot of trouble growing subs indoors and mine have only ever been outdoors, with *plenty* of water that I'm not sure how I'd do in a SGFC inside...

Because it’s season I’ve got the tub sitting outside under a table for shade. I’m giving it a pretty good mist at least twice a day, sometimes more, fanning when i mist. I’ve put a hole on the bottom of one of the side faces to act as a drainage tap for when water builds up. Perlite would probably collect the overspray but I haven’t wanted to mess with this, thinking of putting another collection in my new SGFC for comparison.

Yeah if you have enough to experiment do it and let us all know! Awesome.
I'm trying to spawn mine in a jar full of chips (like you would for cubensis and grain) and once it's fully colonized I'll be keen to try these methods too. Expecting it to probably not work but I've always wanted to do a fully cultivated subaeruginosa grow from scratch.
been getting chips that are so colonized that they basically turn into white chips, or weird super long rhyzomorphic tendrils:

Thanks for the response guys. Is this your first time on a forum goodsadboi? Find the subforum you want to make a thread in and hit “post” on the top right above the thread listing.
I’ve thought about trying a liquid culture from a spore print but since this is working I haven’t made that endeavour yet. I took another photo today, the little ones on the left are growing but I harvest two that were looking dark and they seem to be waterlogged? They’re soggy and break easily.

Yeah those don't look good at all, I'm guessing not enough FAE? Subs in the wild get a ton of FAE

Looks like your misting a bit too much. But its my understanding that Ps Subs are quite brittle.

FAE shouldn’t have changed, but I did think it would be lower than needed. I am letting things dry up a little before I remist, but I’ll try dialing it back.

This is actually pretty incredible :O
You do realise that subs are meant to be notorious to grow indoors or an SGFC? They might be waterlogged or such, but it's coming along well! Could you give us some detail on the growing conditions or which guides you followed to get them this far? I'm wanting to cultivate subs indoors as well however after the trawling I've done through Shroomery I've been concerned about the low success rate / low yield / long "incubation" time that subs apparently need.
Any detail massively appreciated!
