Those grains should be okay. When mycelium can not colonize grains it is touching because they are contaminated that is more worrying. A few clean grains on the side should not be a problem if they do not get contaminated with something else.

lol 😂

Don’t worry that’s fine.

A lot of times the entire top layer of seed won’t colonize visibly. Some people pour them off then spawn but somebody made a tub of just bare looking seeds from the top of a few jars and it grew fine.

2 reasons mainly
i never worked with WBS before so i started slow and wanted to see what happens
i had 3 jars in total and inoculated the big jar (this one) with LC to test LC too and the other two medium ones with agar wedges (they are doing fine too also a little slower obviously)

i want to G2G from this to other WBS jars now , i think it looks fully colonized but im gonna wait 2 more days , (its been 7-8days so far)

Hell yeah man that looks like good lc then. Millet doesn’t colonize like normal grain or wbs. There’s always a bunch that look bare.

Go ahead and g2g I promise you there’s no point in waiting. You’re on track with some good stuff the way you’re doing it is 2-3x faster than dropping wedges.

This is how most of my jars look on top when I spawn them.

Plus you can see how the millet scattered all over doesn’t look colonized.
