Good afternoon community! I really hope im posting this in the right place and following corresponding rules. I'm a firm believer and supporter of the forum rules, as i know it benefits the entirety of the forum boards. Please inform me if I've missed any rules or regulations. With that being said...
As I've previously mentioned i am a returning hobbiest returning to the community after a 3 year break. I might add its been a very pleasant return with very welcoming people! Thanks guys! What you'll see in the pictures below is a few plates from a old print (about 4 years) that has sent in a unplugged mini fridge i was using for a culture storage. all whilst i live in florida with temps reaching 95 degrees farenheit
Now obviously there is something funny going on here. This begin to expand the very next day after inoculation. My question is.. Obviously the green in the middle is not viable. Is it worth transferring some of the white edge however in attempts to gather something clean? I also noc'd about 10 other plates with a new print i received from a generous forum member, Very little sign of growth from those Malaysian plates. I greatly appreciate and suggestions or advise. Also if anyone can identify what i have going on here. thats be a good thing as well. trich?? Not even sure trich is possible in a plate Thanks in advance! -RED

I don't think you can save any of those I know you will have better luck with the Malaysian plates. Just give em some more time

Because every middle part looks thin and discolored and only the edges appear to be good you possibly have all contam and no good mycelium. As it grows does the green expand and let the edge always remain white? I do not know what that would be but I would not trust it.
Starting over is probably best. You can still take transfers if you wish but it is better if they are done early before clear contamination is visible.
If you wish to keep any of this it is more safe to grow it out in a closed container or even on plates to see if you will get any fruits or prove that it is only a contaminant.
Before deciding make sure that what you see is not only the thin mycelium showing other colors through it. If it is only thin you may have mycelium you can use still.

Yes sir, this is exactly what is happening. I'm pretty sure this culture is not viable. As i mentioned its been in a unplugged refrigerate for a year or more im assuming, With temperatures above 90 degrees. I've went ahead and tossed all those plates and i think i;; go ahead and toss the print and be on the look out for another AA+ print. Thanks for your response and knowledge!! i oblige
