I built a flowhood 2

Hi, so I got more than fed up with all the fruitless attempts at getting colonization right without contaminants, so I decided to build a flowhood. I did the design and my dad was more than willing to help in assembling it. He has the tools, workspace and is an experienced handyman. I learned a lot about woodwork in the process.
HEPA filter I used is an AAF Astrocel II, 12" x 48". Pre-filter I used is a cut-to-fit Filtrete Hammock filter by 3M. The blower fan has a throughput of 800 cubic m/hour which is enough capacity for this filter, back pressure compensation included. I could assemble a plexiglass cover resting on the side panels for some extra protection, although recent inoculation results show that this isn't really necessary. I haven't had a single contamination since I started using it.
Here are the project pics:

Final result with fresh BRF jars colonizing on the left and the yield from the ongoing harvest from my first monotub on the right.

Hey man - looks nice! Having built my own, I can attest to the amount of work and new skills it takes to put it altogether. Kudos for having an idea and taking it to the finish line. If you like it and it works for you, who can argue with that!
In future iterations, you might consider adding some height to support working with spawn bags.

looks great man and that's awesome your dad helped. I'm looking to use a similar inline fan. For the pre filter though I think I might make it so I can slide the entire filter in there instead of having to cut it out and put it in there like that.
also now that you've used it, is there anything you wish you would have done different?

This is very cool, I can't seem to find any pre-made flow hood sellers here in Australia so I've been looking for instructions on selecting the right filters etc
Did you use any guides or plans online you can recommend reading?

Update: the flowhood is working very well and my amount of contaminations is almost zero. The sporadic (lol) contaminations I still had were probably due to improper made agar plates and spore syringes.
In essence, you need a main filter with a 99.99% efficiency rate @ 0.3 micrometer. The 3M hammock filter I use is great as a pre-filter and helps increase the lifespan of the HEPA filter by filtering out the biggest particles. Don't settle for less or you will regret it.
I got a bit of inspiration of how it should look from this youtube video:
But I designed and made the layout myself without any pre-made plans, here is the schematic layout in jpeg and if anyone's interested I can send you the MS Visio VSDX file containing the full layout. It took us around 3 days to assemble.
I might add a plexiglass cover to place over the protruding side panels to shield the sterile working environment and increase storage space later.

I live in The Netherlands. This is the seller I bought the HEPA filter from, shipping internationally was not an issue.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/333729511686?ViewItem=&item=333729511686
If you want a smaller size this can be a good option too:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Mystaire-Inc-HEPA-Filter-AU-5220/323743279058
Anyway, just look around on ebay or amazon and I'm sure you will find something. Just make absolutely sure you purchase a filter with 99.99% efficiency @ 0.3 micrometer specs.

No sorry... I'm just as clueless as you are I find it strange shipping overseas from the US is apparently not an issue for those suppliers but shipping to Canada is. I don't get it, it's your neighbor country. It should be easier and cheaper.
Keep looking and looking and contact suppliers outside of ebay, amazon, domestic etc. until you find something. That's what I did. I think there's not much else you can do. Good luck.

Another member suggested https://bgecleanair.com/products/
Posting so other Canadians might better know of places to order from. Maybe others have better suggestions? Thanks
