Hi all, feel confident on these but want a positive id as still new.
No bruising, black spore print, growing in garden bed.

Did you notice if the stems had a whitish powder like coating on the stem that is easily removed with a finger exposing a reddish brown color underneath and are there twisting lines on the stem

I think I know what you mean, no there wasnt anything on the stem, but we had some heavy rain the night before so not sure if that washed it off.

Could be, didn't realise Pap had black spores as well. Dam, how does one tell the difference between Cin and Pap?

Panaeolus Papilionaceus Have Reddish/Brown Stems, That Don't Have The "Swirl Lines" On The Stems Like Pan. Cincts Do.
Panaeolus Papilionaceus Also Have The Classic Mottled Look Around The Cap Margin, Cincts Do Not

The Only Thing That Is Strange To Me, Is To My Knowledge, Panaeolus Papilionaceus Is A Dung Loving Sp. These You Found Were Growing In Your Garden Bed.
Therefor, Is It Possible There Is Manure Mixed In With The Substrate Of Your Garden Bed?
I've Seen Similar ID Requests Showing What Looks To Be Panaeolus Papilionaceus Growing From Grass/Garden Bed/Etc.. & Not Dung. This Makes Me Wonder If There Is An Undescribed Sp Of Panaeolus That Looks Just Like Pan. Paps But Grows From Grass & Soil. Or Is It That Pan. Paps Can Grow From A Variety Of Substrates?
I've Ran Across Many Panaeolus Sp Growing From Dung That I Couldn't Identify To Sp Level Because Of The Weird Features They Had. I'll Be Posting A Thread Of My Own This Season Discussing These Pans, When I Have The Pictures Required For Evidence.
My True Belief Is, There Are Many Pan. Sp Undescribed, That Were Either Passed Up, Misidentified As A Different Pan. Sp Or Something Like That.

There are several mushrooms, going by the Name Panaeolus papillionaceus growing on dung, microscopy is the only way to separate them into species, otherwise they should be called Panaeolus papillionaceus group

Yeah I know paps only grow out of manured garden beds, or straight manure, and I bet that there is some manure in his right now
Check these out, there is horse manure in the soil. I'm thinking they are paps too. I just went out and discovered them.

Who's? Mine or his? If this is the case, then that means that they do grow in the place where I get all my free manure, and that I need to go get more!
Actives are rare in my neck of the woods, and as a matter of fact I have never found on single active in my town before, ever! This is why I didn't get too excited and I just figured that they were in fact paps.

He was responding to you, not me. Your last picture is of panaeolus cinctulus.
Congratulations.

My garden bed soil has mostly store bought top soil but yes there is some cow manure as well.
My paddocks have heaps of mushrooms similar to your pic but they all have brown spore prints. Its rare that I'm finding black prints. Can you please have a look at one of my previous posts and see if these are any different? https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/26661412
