WBS didnt dry fast enough, have a slight smell
    #26722431 - 06/05/20 05:53 PM (3 years, 8 months ago)

I ran into this my first grow, and I dont remember any contaminations happening. Im wondering if the smell will go away once its fully dry, I was debating on rinsing them again. Theyre not fermented or anything, I fogure the PC will take care of it but Im not sure. Thoughts?

WBS was the first thing I used. But I only did two batches with it and then tried rye. I never did WBS again and that was a couple years ago. I do remember that I thought it smelled a little nasty- kinda sour. But the mycelium seemed to love it. I just decided I preferred the rye because I was able to get 56lb bags for $12, it made less of a mess, and it smelled better. So I think your grain will probably be just fine as long as your hydration level is good and you sterilize it properly

Do you mean after soaking??

It definitely has a smell to it after a while soaking in a bucket.

Just wait til you open the pc after your first run. So gross.
