ID request Brindabella/ACT
    #26720732 - 06/05/20 02:26 AM (3 years, 8 months ago)

Hi guys, after hours of buswalking, I think I found something but I am not sure as they are old and look a little different from the last batch i found.
Habitat:
Found in Brindabella mountains in a Eucalyptus forest in grass. Picture posted.

Gills:
Dark brown

Stem:
solid, A little bit of bruising visible to me. As shown in the pictures

Cap:
Colour ranging from Brown to Caramel. Some of the mushrooms seem to be old and their cap is Wood brown color. Some of them are very rubbery (my guess is they are waterlogged and been out there for too long)

Spore print color:
haven't done yet. Do you think that a spore print can still be taken on most of them seeing how old they look?

Bruising:
Some blue bruising as seen in the pictures

Other information:
The scent is similar to the last batch I found for most of them.

If the post refers to the only photo in your gallery.
Then they are Psilocybe subaeruginosa.
Make sure they all bruise blue.

My bad, they still all look like subs but some are a little too beaten for a proper ID.

Make sure to check if any smell bad or fall apart easily. They would be too far gone. The rest just make sure they bruise blue and you should be all good. Take some spore prints if you’re not sure of any.

I Will put them up for a spore print then but I am concerned that they are too old for a spore print. Thanks for your help mate.

No worries!
If any are too old or manky for a spore print it probably isn't worth keeping. Though thats your call.

You've obviously got some Psilocybe subaeruginosa here, but to tell the truth many of them are so manky that I won't make a conclusion.

Safe identification should always be based on pictures of intact, healthy specimens.

Thanks dude, I did a spore print overnight and most of them gave a positive ID. I will throw the ones that did not give a spore print
