Rookie Grower Needs Help Identifying Fuzz

This is my first grow attempt, so any advice would be greatly appreciated: mini-mono tub per pastywhyte’s tec, organic bulk substrate, mazatapec LC in rye berry grain, with a casing layer per Frank’s jiffy mix tec. I just finished day 4 of substrate colonization, and yesterday something fuzzy started growing that didn’t look like the other white stuff starting to come through the surface.
My questions are: should i be concerned about the stuff at the top edge of the tub? If so, is there something i can do to remedy it? Would it be best to do nothing because the fuzzy stuff is normal?

This is the tub 24 hours later. Does this look ok or should i be concerned? Did opening the lid and letting some fresh air in knock down some of the fuzz? It looks a little better, but it still seems to be growing pretty fast

It looks pretty good to me. Sometimes the mycelium looks a little light but it should thicken. Just make sure your temp (70F-80F) and humidity (no pooling) isn’t to high. Sometimes it might cause cobweb mold. If that occurs just spray a little hydrogen peroxide on the cobweb mold. It won’t hurt the mycelium. I hope that helps:)

possible overlay...
https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/23130868/fpart/1/vc/1/nt/17
"Overlay is a situation that is best avoided. Under circumstances that are not ideal, mycelium is able to overtake the casing layer. This overly colonized casing layer is called overlay.
In this case it is difficult for the mycelium to pin, rendering the casing layer useless.
Overlay can be prevented by introducing the mycelium with the added casing layer to fruiting conditions at the right time. After adding the casing layer the substrate needs to be put back in the incubation room for some days. When the mycelium is visible on 20 to 30 percent of the surface, introduce the mycelium to fruiting conditions. Cold shock can have a positive influence in preventing overlay."

Hey thanks for the response. Thats reassuring. . . Would you recommend introducing fruiting conditions at this point? Currently all the holes are taped. Does it seem ready for some FAE? Would that reduce the humidity level a little bit?

I would fruit it now tho for sure Does it have a yellow tent to it in the second pic at the top? That looks kinda suspicious

Looks like cobweb contam to me. I have heard of people saving tubs with cobweb (which I am SURE you have now if you look at the middle of the upper hemisphere of your tub.
Thats not mycelium. By all means get a 2nd opinion though.

Thanks for all the input. It looks much better this morning, but maybe still a little suspicious . . . Just a little different than the rest of it. But this morning, the mycelium is definitely over taking the suspicious fuzz
I removed the tape to allow some FAE and my fingers are crossed! Thanks everyone

Yeah that’s mold all over the top middle.
Is this coir or manure?

Not manure. Its jiffy mix casing layer (peat moss, vermiculite, coir, gypsum, lime) according to franks easy casing tec. The casing is on an organic bulk substrate layer i got pre-packaged on line

But what does organic bulk mean? Could be anything.
Did you pasteurize it or anything?

It was a 100% plant based substrate, sterilized and vacuum sealed. It was proprietary mix from Intergalactic Mushroom (is it cool to mention that? I’m still new to this). Any clues in there that help?

Here is the current state of the tub. I put it in fruiting conditions this morning at 7 am by opening all the holes at the top of the tub, and putting two layers of micropore tape on the bottom holes. I also put the tub in front of a window to get natural light.

The edges of the lining seem to be shrinking in from the sides. Is that a good sign? Also the suspect area where the fuzz is at the top of the tub seems to have been over come by mycelium. Would anyone agree with that? I haven’t sprayed that area with hydrogen peroxide yet, but if anyone thinks that would help, i will do that.
Thanks for everyone’s help.
