ApeR=Albino Penis Envy Reverted
Since it is such a new variety I haven’t seen many anecdotes about it from regular hobbyists. Would appreciate any thoughts about it if you have studied it, particularly in comparison to its penis shaped siblings. Does it really hold up its family name? In strength namely.
Looking forward to hearing your opinions!

Never heard of it.
I imagine it’s very similar to APEU

It looks like a regular cube, yet it is claimed that it retains the PE power. Just curious if it’s actually the case, I hope it’s true. Not that I don’t trust Ryche, but PE6 also has PE in the name but is just as potent as a normal cube. Sounds too good to be true but I’m hoping it’s true because that will be my next study

Well shit it says it’s made by Jake.
I’ll hop over to the pans thread and see. I do remember him mentioning it now.
Looks a lot like APEU, way bigger than ape.
I just finished reading that link, Jake for sure knows his shit but whoever wrote that description doesn’t.
If he wasn’t mentioned I would for sure think they just took Lpeu and renamed it. What they’re selling isn’t even albino.

Aper is a new variety that JOC stabilized. It stands for albino Penis envy revert. So basically it came from ape spores that reverted back to regular looking cubes but kept the Penis Envy potency. I got a syringe but all I got was bacteria on my agar plates, I’m waiting for prints to be in stock so I can get some going. Maybe JOC will chime in with more info.

If Jake grew it I'm sure it is awesome. That being said it looks like a RW or GH mixed with a PE strain.
So if it is more potent you would have to buy the prints or syringes and grow it to be sure.
I also want to point out how incredibly easy it is to cross variety. Like all the Rattlesnake Venom nonsense is just that. Grow two different varietiesin different jars and mix them when you spawn your bulk. It is really that simple.

Hey guy Sorry I just saw this, Yes I grew out APE a few times (normal ape looking fruits) and continued to sector down (growing and fruiting the dishes I sectored from). eventually one of the sectors I took took on an entirely different shape and appearance Alan and I decided that APE reverted best fit this description. Rich makes it sound like I put a whole bunch of effort into coming up with it but in actuality it was just a really happy lucky blind sector. it does retain high potency and even the unique smell accompanied with APE (cat piss-ish) I didn’t grew it out from spore print a few times and every single time I got the reverted looking fruits, Rich had been complaining about problems with printing APE, And I told him about the reverted and he got very excited.

Only if you smell it fruit up close it’s not overwhelming or anything but idk I’ve always thT ape had a unique smell to them that other cubes didn’t, Alan said he smelled it too, he was with me when the first revert happened.

I’m studying this now. From a print I got off qqqqqqqqq.com (not sure if the rules let me name it)
The print is small, about a dollar coin in size. I started with agar, and have seen two kinds of growth, fuzzy and rhizomorphs. I’ve made a few transfers and then inoculated brf cakes and corn grain. The corn grain fully inoculated quickly and I have since performed a grain to grain transfer and a transfer to bulk. My brf cakes are still inoculating. I mixed a proprietary bulk sub of coir, compost,Verm, rice hull and potting mix at about a 2:1:3:2:2 Ratio with some gypsum (convoluted bulk for sure but didn’t know I could do just coir So I mixed every thing I had in it and guessed what ratios might work. My compost consists of produce, egg shells and random stuff left over from dinners and decomposed in a compost heap in the yard. But it’s day 3 of the bulk and several areas of my tub have had mycelium breakthrough so it’s working so far, and I didn’t notice any contam. I’ll check it every few days and fruit in another week. Should be another two weeks before harvest I suspect. So far this is the most success I have had with any strain in over a year into the hobby.
Question, how can I test potency objectively?
