quick question regarding spawning oats

So I am about to spawn some oats to coir. I pasteurized a small amount of coir and it is ready to be spawned to soon, but I am thinking if my oats are still ready? The jar is fully colonized, like all around the grains, but not like thick in many parts. I did a G2G transfer and some of them spilled, so I of course checked them out and realized that the mycelium was only on the surface of the grain, but inside the husk/hull. So now I am thinking is there a risk of contamination getting in there still when I spawn and everything gets mixed up?

Post a picture if you want to know for sure. But mycelium grows in 360 degrees so if you have colonized grains I'm sure the inside is colonized as well.

Yeah it is definitely colonized inside as well, but basically today was day 1 of reaching full colonization. First time doing oats so I am a little weary. Don't want to get this minimono fucked from the start

Oats are awesome in my opinion. When they are fully colonized spawn them. No need for waiting. If you do need to wait say a few jars are lagging behind you can set the colonized jars in the fridge for a few days.
Personally I don't do mono tubs anymore. I just run a bunch of shoeboxes to keep multiple strains going with out having to have 6 jars of each strain running. It's just so much easier.

Yeah I got this storage tote smaller than a shoebox. I am thinking of using 1 pint jar of the oats in it. I guess I am just really eager to get to spawn that jar. I just fuckin love watching the mycelium grow Gonna do shoeboxes later on. Got any tips for those? I am just thinking of doing a basic shoebox tek that I found here. Isn't it just spawn with lid on and wait for full colonization, and then put the plastic bag with holes on top?

Nah shoebox is mix 1-2 Qrts of spawn with 1-2 qrt coir. Or CVg. Mix well, make a top layer and put directly into fruiting lid on unlatched and 12)12 light cycles. You can fruit a shoebox just like a unmodified mono.
Like this one. When the mushrooms get to tall I will make a dub tub if needed.
