๐My first foray into mycology with cubensis๐

After spending some amount of time reading different teks and looking at grow logs, I found myself in a state of inspiration to begin my own mushroom project. I decided to order a few necessary materials; namely grain spawn and a multispore syringe from easy to find online retailers via Google. From there I followed sterile minded technique and inoculated 1.5lbs of grain spawn with 5cc of GT multispore solution. Project start date was May 9th.
To my surprise growth of mycelium was present within 2 days, with temperatures ranging from 75-80ยฐf. 30% colonization was achieved after 7 days, at which point I broke apart the mycelium and scattered throughout the bag. 100% colonization was achieved at day 13.
S2B was done on day 14 of the project. I used 325g of dry coco coir, mixed with boiling water and left to soak and cool for several hours. (I should now mention the grain spawn bag I received had a small amount of vermiculite added for moisture retention.) It appears to be a 2:1 ratio by volume of coco:spawn and was all layered in an unmodified 20qt sterilite tub with a casing layer on top of coco coir. Fruiting conditions were enacted immediately, with the lid cracked, occasional misting, and daily fanning starting day 16 (2 days after S2B).
Full tub colonization was achieved at day 21 (7 days after S2B) with primordia beginning to dot the landscape of the tub. It immediately became apparent that my tub was side pinning galore, and looking a tad dry. To combat this I "floated" my cake of mycelium and transferred to a larger tub in hopes of easier harvesting.
And that puts us where we are now, day 24 (10 days after S2B). I just wanted to share my experience with you all and ask if these results seem typical. Thanks for your time everyone.

Will this become a canopy? I see no evidence of aborts and new pins are popping up daily.

A few popped earlier than the rest.
Any opinions on twist and pull method vs cutting at base?

If the shrooms are deeply "rooted" in the substrate, it is a lot better to cut them at the base. Yours look to go pretty deep into the substrate, so I would recommend cutting them. Thanks for sharing.

Yeah it depends if they pop off easy or not.
It could be genetic but it looks like that tub was overhydrated.
They get a certain look to them thatโs hard to explain, plus theyโre short.
Thatโs an awesome first grow though the pinset is great.
You tried them yet?

Tried a small one that popped early. Definitely a good little treat.
I did keep the tub too wet I feel, but it kept drying up every 12 hours or so because of high FAE..
Overall this project has been a fun first experience.

Day 25 since inocculation.
