Cleaning your Fruiting Room * 1
    #26717987 - 06/03/20 10:58 PM (3 years, 7 months ago)

What is your cleaning procedure? What cleaning products, if any, do you use? Any tips or tricks you've learnt over time?

Honestly, Depends on the Strain....

Some Strains Like SuperSG or VEN. Marvelosa simply do all the cleaning for you.

After 20+ years strain hunting, they seem almost 100 immune to contamination issues. Very Very strong colony, once they go white....they never go black lol

I use diluted bleach once a week to wipe down all surfaces and mop the floor. I get mold and stuff growing in there if I don’t do that

Can you mix it in a bottle to spray on shelves to save time vs trying to wipe every crack and crevice?

1 cup bleach 9 cups water. I do the same thing for my lab before I inoculate bags or do agar.

And you just spray that everywhere, floors, walls and ceiling, and mop up after? I'm assuming being careful not to get any on the blocks.

Yes, that is all I do. I have never had a problem doing it that way.

Isn't plain old water with some dish soap enough? Spores will stick to that.
