Yoga balances your mind while at the same time giving you nice tone to your body. Add some push-ups and some cardio. I have zero need for a gym membership I’m not ripped I’m tone

Been working out at home with weights. Running 5km sometimes daily sometimes every other day. I feel nice.

I mostly hike, run, and cycle. I clock about 100 hilly miles on my bike a week at this point. Sounds impressive, but you get used to it fast and as long as you have like 45-90 minutes a day it's a really achievable goal. I can't run on asphalt I get way too bored way too fast, so I stick to trail running a few days a week. Sometimes when I'm bored or I can't sleep or I just need something to do I'll use the stationary bike..I don't have one at home and it's been a really nice to have in addition to my bicycle.
I'd like to add yoga and weight training to the mix. That takes a little more discipline for me though, it's tougher for me to find a groove with, but fitness wise I see waaaaay more progress when I at least add a little tiny bit of weight training to my regimen in addition to the cardio.

I'd like to hike as well. Yoga I'm not that interested in...for now.
I can't stand a treadmill, myself. I like looking at how shit develops when running through the streets and waving at people who are also running. I once tracked the whole degradation progress of a roadkill cat. Was pretty messed up , but pretty interesting as well.

For real
I never understood people taking the car to the gym to walk on the treadmill for half an hour

A day? Nice.
I hate cardio, it's gotta be something like climbing or fighting or jumping for me to get interested in it. I know it's amazing for you, but it's boring as fuck. I'll maybe start taking the bike out more, but everything with nature feels too far away or dangerous. A friend told me she heard gunshots when she went hiking once.

I read the book convict conditioning, it was a good read, I started the program for like a month before my lazy ass gave up, plus I cant do all the exercises due to a wrist problem, the book is free on archive dot org

Oh wow that's awesome. I actually learned about it from a friend who got the shit end of the California three strikes law back in the 90s. Makes sense someone wrote a book on incarceration excercises. Some of those workouts are brutal but the fact you dont need equipment is what really got me interested. Thx for the post I'm gonna look through it tonight. Lord knows I need to start working out again especially since my state has to drop our covid 19 cases by 3x before they even open gyms or anything else for that matter.

have you heard of the youtuber vegetable police? (he changed his name to vegetable conspiracies recently) he ripped of convict conditioning and wrote a book called monkey strength, I think it cost $20, it might be worth checking out, I dunno I never read it

I hate the simple activity of exercising.
I cannot stand to only exercise for the sake of exercise, to me it's a waste of my time.
Exercise must come from a productive or enjoyable activity not pre-associated with the concept of exercise.
For me it's hiking up a large mountain trying to find the best view, or chopping down trees with a hand saw or axe, and chopping it into fire wood and hauling that wood somewhere with my hands.
I will never step foot into a gym to just thrust around on machines while staring at other machines or people.

When you find a good gym, it becomes life a family; like a place to hang with friends and socialise.
The sense of community in a proper gym is unparalleled.
