Because it looks like ANTIFA.  Its the same kind of shit they’ve been talking about doing for a while now, he’s black blocked out, and the motherfucker even has an umbrella and a pink gas mask.

Hong Kong protesters wear gas masks and carry umbrellas to deflect tear gas, it's nothing new or antifa specific.

Antifa talks about a lot of things but actually does next to nothing. This is something US intelligence and law enforcement has been known to do for decades.

I don't really have an opinion either way, the whole antifa boogeyman talk is just hilarious partisan fearmongering.

Members of ANTIFA post here all the time.  Ive been watching videos of them clashing with trump supporters for the last 4 years.  They are indeed real and have a kill count after two of the members decided to hit the CNN scoreboard.

But play their existence down if you want.

No.  I’m making no such claims.  Im saying the man who smashed the window of the Auto-zone looks like ANTIFA, not that he is.

No. I genuinely disagree with most of what your saying, i disagree with the riots, and I’m keeping an open mind to evidence because there’s always the possibility I am wrong.  So far the the cop has had no evidence presented that he is the window smasher.

Looking like a leftist insider.

Gee, what a surprise.

Hey, are people here familiar with bad-jacketing? It's the practice of creating suspicion - through the spreading of rumors, manufacture of evidence, etc - that bona fide participants are actually police; it was one of the FBI's techniques we learned about when COINTELPRO was leaked.

These are things that you shouldn't speculate about without solid evidence because bad-jacket rumours cause actual harm to movement solidarity - the resulting paranoia plays directly into the cops favour.

It shouldn't matter whether it was a militant protester, or a cop dressed like one - what matters is the act itself. We have to acknowledge that any chaotic situation will attract looting, including a mass rebellion. We also have to acknowledge the fact that the police have no incentive to stop the looting right now - if continued looting will only turn public opinion against the protesters, why would the police want to stop that?

So if looting is inevitable, we can't let that become a wedge the ruling class drives into a movement that needs solidarity to have any hope of success. If we let the police and corporate media define the extent we are willing to act, shouldn't we expect that line to be drawn at a point that will limit our effectiveness?

Everyone seems to be aware of agent provocateurs, but have you given any thought to the opposite tactic? Instead of instigating some property damage - which gives the police an excuse to brutally shut down any protest - you have undercover agents that convince militant social movements to adopt a code of "Nonviolence" that essentially amounts to a code of 'do nothing'.

How do we respond? By defining our own limits of acceptable protest instead of trying to gain legitimacy from police and corporate media by following the limits they provide, and gleefully turning cop on any other protesters who don't toe the line. Trying to win over the ruling class by playing into their 'Good Protesters' / 'Bad Rioters' divide will only get us relief until the authorities finish mopping up all the others whom we've implicitly condoned state violence against - and then our government representatives will go back to ignoring the passive protest like they always have.

What should that line be? Definitely not property destruction or incitement - that's how you get self-appointed protest police tackling people for graffiti or lightning fireworks. No, imo we should hold the line at unprovoked assault. There will always have to be rebuilding after something like this - but the point is that we can rebuild.

You don't have to support looting to still hold your solidarity: "I'm against police violence, but these protests need to stop if they can't respect property rights", or "I'm against looting, but these protests won't stop until police respect human rights"! How do you choose to phrase it?

Solidarity among all of us - protesters, rioters, looters, everyone - is essential if we will ever succeed in our struggle for justice and equality for all. A united front is one of our greatest strengths and one of the things the ruling class fears the most. Don't fall to their divide-and-conquer tactics.

The only reason the state was willing to talk with MLK was because the alternatives were Malcolm X and Huey P Newton. Nonviolent and militant movements grant each other legitimacy - nonviolent movements benefit from the pressure on the state that militant movements provide and militant movements benefit from the peaceful alternative that nonviolent movements provide. Without militancy, we are too easily ignored - without nonviolence, the only direction is escalation. Stronger together.

What account?  A claim on a tweet by an unknown individual is not evidence of anything.

Show me the place where it is documented that the wife or ex-wife said this.

I think Antifa is a group of social misfits with a warped view of reality. With that being said, I don't think they're largely responsible for any of these riots.

There's plenty of reasons for regular protesters to be frustrated, violent and destructive. I doesn't take a group of kids dressed in all black to do those acts.

It's obvious that Trump and The Elite are looking for a scapegoat to blame for everything, when in fact they know it's not organized as much as they claim.

They're also trying to label the protesters as anti-American and leftists. That's a bunch of BS as well, moderates and conservatives are all sick of the overzealous policing in the US today.

It is antifa and black crimials that are looting and being violent. The worst thing is that the left supports it. But people are not stupid and Trump will be re-elected.

The secretary of defense is opposing using the insurrection act against protesters. This would mobilize active duty troops. Thank fuck! How long do you think he'll still be the secretary of defense?

Trump said on twitter that Abraham Lincoln was a "possible exception" in terms of presidents who have done more for black people than he has

He's literally an SNL skit
