Hello guys,
so this is my first time doing this and I have some questions.
I have fully colonised jars in different sizes, some are halve pint and the others I'm not sure but they seem to be more than a pint. ----->

So im preparing to birth this cakes and start the fruiting process using a tube with no holes and mixing the cakes with coco coir and gypsum.
Questions:
1) Should I dunk the cakes for 24 hours after birth? or not?
2) I'm having issues to understand the quantities and capacity of my project. I have 6 Liter or 14 Liter tubes, lets say I take the 14L... I understand I should mix the coco coir in a 1:1 ratio with BRF cakes, so how many cakes should I use for this 14L tube? and how many for the 6L? ----->

3) I read that the depth of the mixture (cakes-coco coir) inside tube should be 3 inches, I calculated that to be around 7,5 centimetres, and thats seems to be too much, is that correct?
4) should I use a black plastic bag to void side pining inside the tub?
5) How to FAE this? how often and which technique should I use?
6) Should I water this?
Please help me, sorry if its too many questions

1) If you’re mixing your cakes into coir, no need to dunk them. The coir should have all the moisture needed.
2) I have no idea. I don’t use boxes that size, and you said your cakes are all different. Shred cakes into your tub until half the tub is at the depth you want your sub to be, then add an equal amount of prepped coir. Mix well and level the surface. If it’s as deep as you want, you’re good to go. If not, add or subtract as needed.
3) 6L and 14L tubs are not that big. I would want 2 to 3 inches of sub in boxes that size. 5cm to 7.5cm is about right.
4) You don’t need any black plastic. Keep surface conditions ideal, and you won’t have side pins.
5) Good question. How tight do the lids fit? When I use shoeboxes I just snap the lid on and let them ride. The lids don’t fit tightly, and allow adequate FAE. I wouldn’t clip the lids on, but maybe set them on upside down? As long as they are on loosely you should get some air exchange. You’ll have to monitor the condition of your sub. If it looks a bit wet, maybe open them up a bit. If dry, them you might have to mist.
6) Mist it if needed, but I can’t tell you before hand. Watch the surface of your sub. Learn what good conditions look like, then do whatever is needed to keep them that way.
