Is quicker actually better when killing a rat (or any "pest")...?

So yeah...i just had to kill a rat...and my instinct was to kill it quickly...but then i started to think....should i have left it in something like a bucket of water to drown or something like that?
I know that general policy is to kill it quickly, but doesnt that deprive it of its full experience of its dmt release?
What do you think..or know?

What?
I think less suffering is better, make it fast. I'd rather die fast.

And yes....i would rather not kill anything, but my current job kinda requires the killing of rats, so...i dunno...i guess we could have a talk about finding a way to not have to kill them, but as of right now, the situation is that theyve got to die so....

not sure maximum DMT release is the rat's biggest priority at that point in time

Quick to give a powerful release into rat kingdom come.
Leave its corpse behind to give a reminder to the other rats what not to do. Maybe they will get religious and tell grand tales of the rat that went for it all and was crucified by the big man in the sky.
So many rats, so little time.

Yeah i think i agree...plus me holding it by the tail a bunch while i was preparing it for death probably actually gave it such a super massive panic attack that it released a good amount of death chemicals anyways.

So you'd rather suffer on your deathbed if it meant you'd get hella high? Like, hwat. Just kill the little bastards, no need to get all noble about it... Lol

well...the thing is, ive died a few times and been brought back. i know that there must be a severe difference between what ive experienced and actual death of ones current body, but in my experiences, dying slowly was much preferable in a way. it waas utterly agonizing, but also more comfortable towards the end. I certainly prefer having time to reflect on my body's life than not having any time...
I dunno, but thats just my experience and opinion, which is why im wondering whether i did the right thing with the rat or not.

Same here, I've had several "cosmic resets" "second chances" some combination of nine lives and way too much left to do.
Near death at birth, car accidents, grand mal siezures, cracked head open on tile.

I actually had a job where I had to decapitate rats and remove their organs. You have to hold them really tight so when the head comes off they don’t convulse and spray blood all over the place.

Wow, what kind of job was that?
No wonder you're soo fucked up ( lol seriously JK but it was too easy) having to decapitate and cut open rats all day as a job.

Was there some reason you didn't CO2 them or anesthetize with ketamine first? Would either interfere in results (assuming this lab work) It just seems unethical when really easy means of making it slightly more humane are readily available.
