People OK with the looting and destroying are fucking hilarious.
I scroll through instagram and each day at least 1 black owned business has been absolutely fucked by looters.
A guy named Deezy in Sacramento & another named Big Daves Cheese steaks in Atlanta.
Going out and fucking over people who are sympathetic to their cause.

Eh, fair point, it is hypocritical, and honestly I feel like I'm in the minority that's willing to call it out - and that goes for the hypocrisy on the right as well, because they're certainly rife with it. I feel like it's important to be out there and I would be if I could be, and I will be when I do head back home when I'm closer to one and not going to potentially expose COVID to my family.
At least most people are wearing masks though . My biggest issue with the liberate protests was that they politicized the one thing that is now proven with hard data to allow society to reopen sooner , a simple mask. I can respect the fact that they felt like they needed to be out there fighting for their freedoms even though I disagree entirely with the approach - I can even commend them for keeping it mostly peaceful.
Not wearing masks and blocking people from getting to a hospital though? Nah. Can't get down with that aspect of it.

In Vancouver's solidarity protests, the organizers supplied masks:

Organizers encouraged physical distancing and handed out masks, gloves and hand sanitizer, said Callender-Prasad, who added he is not affiliated with any specific group.

Property can be replaced - lives can't. There's already enough examples out there of people cleaning up after the riots and supporting the few local businesses that they consider part of their community in rebuilding. There's no reason to assume that looting and burning form the core of this protest unless that's the narrative you seek out.
Of course the media is going to portray all groups that threaten corporate control and domination in any negative way they can - they'll call us violent at the least excuse - and Nonviolence activists will break solidarity with those who are trying to end violence, and join hands with the corporate media and police in denouncing "violent" activities. Can the media turn the middle class, even the working class, against reformers and revolutionaries? Sure! That's their job. That's one of the things their sponsoring corporations pay them for - but it isn't the violence or Nonviolence of the activists that is being targeted - I mean they even vilified taking a knee.
But if you are choosing to focus on the looting instead of the violence displayed in this video, you are wrong!

Boston had an estimated 10,000+ at the protest yesterday, with around 100 involved in the rioting after. Imagine how much better our country would be if the ratio of good cop (meaning one who will actually speak out against fellow officers as well) to bad cop was half as good as the ratio of good protester to bad protester?
But of course certain people want to pretend that the white and black looters are somehow a representative of the protests and the cause, and not mostly opportunists and a minuscule % of the total number. The fact that even this has somehow turned political is ridiculous.
Shitty people took the opportunity to do shitty things. The message that the protests were promoting was equality and justice, and if we actually had that we'd have a lot less shitty people all around and even the looting itself would have been less likely. It all just keeps coming back full circle, and people somehow still act confused when it occurs as we continue to ignore the source.

Turns out that person killed by police in Louisville last night was a local business owner outside of his own business, and wasn't part of a protest. Killed for violating curfew. 'My son didn't hurt nobody:' David McAtee, Louisville business owner, killed by authorities
But sure, the ones looting are the real problem. You can rebuild a destroyed business - you can't bring a person back to life.
What we know
- Police and the National Guard were sent to a parking lot at 26th and Broadway in Louisville on Sunday at about 12:15 pm, according to NBC. Like many cities around the country in recent days, Louisville has imposed a curfew, which began at 9 pm.
- Police say they began shooting after being fired on by the crowd. “Officers and soldiers began to clear the lot and at some point were shot at,” Conrad said in his statement. “Both LMPD and national guard members returned fire.”
- David McAtee, 53, was fatally shot. McAtee owned a barbecue restaurant on the corner where the crowd had gathered. Riley, his mother, says he was a “community pillar,” known for giving free meals to police officers. “All he did on that barbecue corner is try to make a dollar for himself and his family,” she told the Courier-Journal. “And they come along and they killed my son.”
- Several sources say the crowd in the parking lot was not actually protesting when police arrived. One bystander told reporters they were not engaged in protest and were merely out past the city’s curfew. And McAtee’s sister told WAVE 3 News that McAtee and others meet in the area every Sunday night for food and music, and that her brother was serving food.

It's not impossible. Transmission is seriously reduced, but all that goes out the window when people are right on top of each other. It's gonna cause a spike, people are gonna get sick, but to back down right now due to the pandemic is not an option .
