Hi all So This is my first attempt, made the brf pftek colonized ok birthed dunked rolled Now this is where I may have fucked up I’ve made a 30qt SGFC no holes lid flipped fanning every say 2 hrs or so, a 5k daylight led (can’t buy anything else in stores) 12hr on and off, misting 2-3 times a day as I’m rotating the FC every 3 hrs Now the where I May have fucked up When I put the verm in the bottom of the FC (it’s 1-1/2” deep) I didn’t water it just added it dry then put the foil and cakes down and have been misting sides and cakes but the first flush so far have been small I mean the largest so far was only 3/4” wide So do I add water to the verm as I’m trying to figure is the water or lack thereof causing these fruit to be so small or is it all I should expect from the pktek? It seems to have enough RH or is it because I’m a noob that the condensation on the sides of the FC is deceiving me

Normally you use perlite in the bottom of the FC. but since you went without all the 1/4” holes SGFC style I think that verm will give you enough evaporation/humidity. It might be kinda soggy but you definitely have to get some water in it.
There’s no benefit to spraying the sides, that just makes you think you have a humid environment with temp difference. I’d give the verm a good misting with half a bottle or full bottle maybe. Or switch it out for perlite if you have it and feel like it.
Make sure they are getting plenty of passive fresh air. That’s air all day from a gap in the lid etc. fanning isn’t a substitute for that. Cubes love air.

I would imagine that if the verm was dry, it's probably sucking moisture out.
SGFC principals
If you want to experiment, go for it. If you want the highest chance of success and yield, I would follow a tried and true tek.
Once you have the basic setup it'll be easier to tweak it and get feedback.

Those fruits look healthy though at least. The bigger one on top is great and if you leave the others till the veil starts to shift , you'll get some decent yield out of them, so all is not lost. Just make sure you give them all a good dunk before putting them back, because they may be a little dried out.
When you throw them in for their 24, I would swap the verm for soaked perlite, you'll fair much better and not have to fuck with it anymore
